BOXXER, the next-generation boxing promotion, today announced the launch of the BOXXER Series, a new event format which will take thrilling one-night tournament action to every major city in the UK.

The BOXXER Series will debut on Saturday, November 6 at Space M&S Bank Arena Liverpool with The Boxxer Series: Liverpool Super Lightweight Tournament. Eight boxers will compete in a one-night tournament from which just one will emerge triumphant, live and exclusive on Sky Sports.

Fast, action-packed and unpredictable, BOXXER Series tournaments utilize the short-form boxing forma of 3 x 3-minute rounds.

Expect explosive encounters as boxers look for decisive wins to guarantee their passage to the next stage, with the action and drama inside the ring complemented by a unique BOXXER Series live event experience.

“Our grassroots tournaments have always been hugely popular but to bring this new event series to Sky Sports is a dream come true. We believe the events will be hugely popular for a mass audience and bring something very positive to the sport of boxing in Britain,” said BOXXER founder Ben Shalom.

“The BOXXER Series is about making boxing accessible to everyone. Short-form professional boxing is fast-paced and a great introduction to the sport we love.”

The BOXXER Series will visit every major city in the UK as part of BOXXER and Sky Sports’ commitment to supporting the sport at grassroots level, creating opportunities for boxers all over the country to compete on the biggest television platform in British boxing.

BOXXER tournaments are the ultimate challenge for any professional boxer. Winning one is an incredible achievement and winners can expect to see their names rocket up the rankings and enter the title shot conversation.

You lot get to see these guys more often than foreigners like me.
It's like a shop window of up and comers- except this time there are a few also rans.
In the past these events have given me a first look at guys who go on to better things, and a lot don't as well.

How is me saying Prizefighters got boring (which Matchroom promoted) and that I’ll watch this but it may go the same way shitting on this.

I dont mind watching somthing like this, but they shouldent be pro fights on peoples record. pro fights should have to be at least 4 rounds, and you shouldent be able to have multiple fights a night.

I’d got completely bored of them under Matchroom but I’ll watch this. I was disappointed when they announced they were doing it in Sky but the closer it’s got, the more I’m warming to it as it should mean we’ll get a handful of competitive fights where the guys are genuinely going for it.

I saw an interview with Masher Dodd - it sounds like he completely lost the plot in lockdown. I’m not quite sure how but he lost his family (assume his wife left him) and his money. I always liked him as a fighter so hoping he does well.

P.s is this one of those 3 rounder, knockout, all fights same night thing? like someone will get 3 wins in a night? because if so i really really dont think they should be sanctioned pro bouts. min 4 rounds, and cant fight more than once a day (minimum)

I don't mind these once in a while, there's been a few crackers over the years, Prizefighter died a bit of a death but I think that was because Eddie had all these dates to fill and didn't have the depth of stable, Boxxer is still pretty spread out so don't mind it
