OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Rob Calloway knocked out David Robinson in the third round of a 10-round fight on Friday night at "The Bricktown Boxing Extravaganza" in Oklahoma City.

It was Calloway's first victory since he knocked out Benito Fernandez in March.

"Everything went smooth," said Calloway, who fought at 210 pounds. "I didn't get cut, I was able to win and I felt good in the ring - nothing sloppy."

Calloway said Robinson, who weighed in at approximately 205 pounds, landed a few punches and pinned Calloway against the ropes.

"He didn't think I would know how to fight when he had my back to the ropes, but I was able to prove him wrong," Calloway said. "I used a number of punching combinations and an effective jab."

The fight was held outside, but Calloway said the weather wasn't a factor.

Robinson (23-54-4 with 12 knockouts) became the third boxer in Calloway's last 19 matches, who weighed less than 210 pounds and Calloway (58-7-1 with 45 knockouts) took advantage.

"I knew everything was in my favor, but you never know until you get in that ring," Calloway said. "This was a good fight for me."

Calloway said he isn't sure if he will fight again before his Oct. 27 showdown against St. Joseph boxer Byron Polley.

Team Calloway boxer Steven Huitt-Johnson earned his second professional victory when he knocked out Simon Ramirez (3-3-1) in the first round of a four-round bout.

"He came out aggressive and used a number of body shots," said Huitt-Johnson's trainer Jason Redmond.
