We all got to see what he could do in the WBSS. It was just how it transferred to HW. Also Del Boy is a proven yardstick, so you can't blame people for thinking Uysk had failed the initial eye test after moving up.aicheligad wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:17 Some were saying that Usyk is another eastern euro guy who will get verified in the pro game, but he has that something special, seems like still there are people who are unable to notice it. caldo, you're a knowledgable boxing guy. And in some respects, you know more about the sport than I do, but your opinion of the AJ-Usyk bout seems unrealistic.
I feel that even AJ's most ardent admirers wouldn't attempt to refute the outcome of this fight.

Usyk is a genuine boxing master.aicheligad wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:17 Some were saying that Usyk is another eastern euro guy who will get verified in the pro game, but he has that something special, seems like still there are people who are unable to notice it. the judge who had it 115 - 113 should never judge a fight again.
did he maybe score the last round 10 - 8?
that would mean he had it even after 11...
imagine that shite!
unsurprisingly everything was set up for a 'close, controversial decision' or to at least fabricate a draw, if somehow possible.
USYK JUST MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO fornicate HIM OVER, but they tried.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk - September 25, 2021
However, the fact is that Usyk won this fight easily, 117-111 or so, and wasn't really hurt. Chisora was doing well early, but Usyk is the type of fighter that does just enough, not more, not less. I believe that he would look even better vs Fury and it's a 50/50 fight to me.KiwiRider wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:20We all got to see what he could do in the WBSS. It was just how it transferred to HW. You are right. Fortunately enough, Usyk never lefts any doubts.adislav123 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:22 the judge who had it 115 - 113 should never judge a fight again.

FFS it was a 119-109 - 117-111 for Usyk, no doubts, zero, null. You could even score the 12th 10-8.

Sure, he was the worse for wear at the end and seemed to be a punch away from being put away but i thought that he won many of the middle rounds. I was very surprised by two of the scorecards.
I can’t say that it was the wrong fight strategy. AJ’s jab was fantastic tonight. It neutralized Usyk big time but I think we may have another eye socket dealio with AJ’s eye. No idea what punch did it but in that 10th or 11th round, AJ’s eye was done. Why are Brit’s eye sockets so easily busted? His has to be broken. As soon as it happens, boxers junk the game plan to think about their future eye issues and for good reason. We would all do the same but the big bastard finished it out like a man.

Yes. I gave Joshua only the 6th and 8th.aicheligad wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:26 FFS it was a 119-109 - 117-111 for Usyk, no doubts, zero, null. You could even score the 12th 10-8.

5,6 , 8 were only rounds for aj i thought
wasnt even a case of a lot of close rounds either, usyk was pretty handily winning outside those 3

Funny how the announcers kept saying Usyk was tired and gassing from 4th on and it was Joshua who could barely stand in 12th and sat on his stool for 10 mins after the bell.

And those are the only round you could give him, with 6th being the only clear AJ's round. You could make a case for 5th because it's boxing and Joshua was the A side, but only due to that, close but clear Usyk round.DrDuke wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:32Yes. With those odds, it was easy to bet something on Usyk without even thinking he'll win.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk - September 25, 2021
AJ’s vanity and ego got the better of him.
Against Ruiz Jr., AJ thought the little fat man couldn’t hurt him and recklessly tried to force the stoppage, whilst being defensively irresponsible.
And he ended up getting knocked out.
Against Usyk, he listened for the widespread common opinion conveyed by boxing pundits, who all claimed that Joshua couldn’t outbox Oleksandr, they said he had to fight him and bully the Ukraine into submission.
Joshua naively believed they were wrong and even chose to forgo his superior size and athleticism, by boxing the master boxer, because he wanted to prove everyone wrong.
And even though his gameplan was failing, instead of trying to adapt, he just kept making the same mistakes over-and-over again.
I actually think that Joshua is essentially done!
For sure, he’s still capable of beating, but I just don’t think he’ll improve. He’s already peaked and will never be regarded as the top dog at heavyweight.
Anthony Joshua has earned a lot of money, he’s highly-accomplished and his ego/vanity will prevent him from accepting the cold harsh truths of reality.
I really don’t think the hunger is there anymore.

Every bet is an additional sin! You have much to repent. Ban yourself from this forum for 1 year and 6 months, and 5 hail Marys - that should do the trick.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 20:00I placed significant bets Joyce, Ugas and Usyk to score upsets and won.lazboy wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:45aicheligad wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:44 With those odds, it was easy to bet something on Usyk without even thinking he'll win.
