Chilling knockout :oo

Fantastic win for Smith. He's a dangerous title defence for any of the world champions.

I'd still love to see Callum in with any of Buatsi, Yarde or Callum Johnson. Any of these matches could double up as world title eliminators too.

Personally I would have delayed his flight home for at least an extra day!

The KO was brutal. Smith turned on Castillo's vibration mode.

It was a spectacular finish :bag:

Despite it looking horrendous, and let's not pretend it's healthy to get pole-axed in such devastating fashion, it was probably far less harmful than taking a sustained beating over 10 rounds then get being ko'd.

There're no standards in this. It's possible to take a number of punches and overcome it, it's possible to die from a single punch. If there's a vast brain hemorrhage, it can be lethal. And a one punch can be enough for causing a brain hemorrhage.

I would have liked to see a longer fight at this new weight , but he took his chance and got the guy out .
Cant ask anymore of him really .

I don't think he should go into a world title fight just yet.

TBRB
C Artur Beterbiev
1 Dmitry Bivol
2 Joe Smith Jr.
3 Gilberto Ramirez
4 Maxim Vlasov
5 Marcus Browne
6 Badou Jack
7 Eleider Alvarez
8 Joshua Buatsi
9 Robin Krasniqi
10 Lyndon Arthur

I doubt he fights anyone from that list..

Would love a Eleider Alvarez fight.

I have a feeling he will go the WBA route, because Bivol fight is easiest to make, but then I think Buatsi is also on the WBA route.

WBA top 15.
1 ROBIN KRASNIQI
2 JOSHUA BUATSI
3 DOMINIC BOESEL
4 CRAIG RICHARDS
5 YUNIESKI GONZALEZ
6 ANDRE DIRRELL
7 RICARDS BOLOTNIKS
8 FARIS CHEVALIER
9 DAN AZEEZ
10 BRYAN PEREZ CASTILLO
11 FELIX VALERA
12 MATHIEU BAUDERLIQUE
13 LYNDON ARTHUR
14 BASTIE SAMIR
15 ALBERT RAMIREZ

Take your pick.

he should have at least one non title fight for sure , and one that isnt a 2 round demo job .

he is still unproven at this level and many would say wasnt great at SW either .
