If he thought Hatton blocking punches with his face was winning the fight then come out and tell us otherwise the only explanation is he needs to be stripped of his judges licence till he can score a fight correctly
ya, would love this, and having to take questions from the boxrec forum at the end of it too :yay:

McDonnell has been at it for years, like almost 30 years, he has no conscience.

Nice to see the world has seen it rather than on a non TVs show.
Yea I think that’s why he might regret it a bit. … it’s a high profile clear as day robbery, I think even clearer than he would of thought.. You do them 5 times a week on low profile cards and nothing happens, on big cards you can get away with reasonable robberys but this is a piss take.. It could put some eyes on him which is not what you want when your a belt judge… But being bbboc probably just get justified as “he was the one with the best view of it”, like it’s what he saw that’s up for debate not if he is crook.

Like I said on the RBR thread, the only thing that will really invite widespread scrutiny is if the bookies start refusing to take bets on these sorts of fights.

I’m certainly lumping big-time on Hatton points from now until he gets ko’d. Maybe they’ll finally get sick of paying me out for dodgy decisions and do something about it

Even if it's paying a fraction over, betting on Hatton makes perfect financial sense. It takes a month to earn any interest at a bank, whereas you can bet the farm on a Hatton decision the day before and get paid out 10% on your investment.
Bargain

I think with social media and the internet now, fans casual and hardcore, journos, fighters need to keep the pressure up and loudly call out the corrupt judging and refereeing

That Luestre Fox robbery in US had a backlash that put the fear into the WBA to get their act together a bit

Whilst there may have been worse decisions throughout the years, this was blatant favouring of the home fighter on a big stage in front of a big audience and needs calling out to stop it happening again.

Complaining to Sky to state that you will not purchase Sky Box Office events if the fight outcomes are not fairly judged and encourage Sky to ask the BBBoC to investigate. It sounds ridiculous but the money men are the only ones who might force change.

They didn't pay me back on Martinez points! Guess they only refund refunded the win market.

proud to have scored a win for the home team? embarrased? ashamed?

does it take a 'special' person simply not capable of feeling shame? would they simply laugh off the criticism if they read these forums and knew everyone thought they were being tossers and sucking at their job?
Hatton's son is rubbish, bought off ref again. The corrupt judges/refs should be sacked.

On a completely different note. ;-) I can remember Terry O'Connor practically grabbing and walking/guiding Cleverly back to his corner when he had just been getting a mullering from Kovalev, only for Kovalev to give him a more brutal beating in the next round, stopping him.

Going into the eleventh round, Usyk was still odds against in the Betfair in-running market. Even though most people could see he was well in control. I think that is reflective of the fact that most boxing people virtually expect the robbery now.

It cannot be hard for the board to take six recently retired pros and make them judges. I am sure the interest would be there from boxers. Have the scores broadcast at the end of each round. Sweep the floor clean of these crooks.

It'd be good if talksport got hold of this. Simon Jordan likes boxing and would have a field day with it, talking rings round anybody prepared to defend the ref.

Yes. He's one of the few presenters they've got who when he starts a sentence he knows where it is ending.

I actually expected Usyk to get shafted on the cards.

It doesn't work like that, the process for becoming a judge is ludicrously circuitous, I looked into it years ago, and concluded it wasn't worth the fornicating effort.

To become a judge in the UK, you have to first quality as a referee, and have experience as a referee - it's risible. You have to start out as an amateur ref, work your way up to pros through area, then british title fights, etc.

You'd think it was brain surgery.

What is even more ridiculous is that in this country, the wages and accommodation etc of the judges is paid for by the promoter's end. It's really inviting corruption.

Another ridiculous BBBoC rule is usually on there must be 1 British judge and referee, 1 from the away fighters country and 1 neutral.

Why not all from neutral countries in world title fights? The governing bodies may need to clamp down on the BBBoC it's that bad.

Also why is the UK one of the only places were referees also judge the same fight? Is there that few of them or are people that tight not to have the appropriate number of judges
