And people were saying he'd lose to King Kong rofl!Mexi-Box wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 19:17Size doesn't seem to matter with Michael Hunter who has been stopping big HW's. Usyk doesn't need to face anyone on the fringes. He can face Whyte today and beat him. I'd say he can face AJ today and beat him too, but I guess it'll be a benefit for him to fight someone in the top 10 first so he can be given a chance and potentially make more money.tiny_acres wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 19:04Usyk needs to face a borderline top 10 to 15 contender in his first outing. I'd suggest someone considerably bigger.
Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?

I just want to rub it in this forum's face as posters would laugh at my prediction.

Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
Someone seems sound then. I picked Usyk over Joshua too. It was a brainer actually, the guy simply boxes better than any big stiff idiot.

Mexi-Box, I have to take my hat off to you and anyone else who was unequivocal about Usyk winning.
My gut told me Usyk would win, but my heart took over and I plumped for Joshua in the end.

Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
You may well be right.
There's no doubting Joshua's strengths, but he has some alarming be weaknesses for a top-line heavy.
His stamina is poor; he can't decide if he wants to be a boxer or a puncher and despite looking quicker in recent times, he has reverted back to being Frank Bruno lite in terms of speed.
Joshua has a lot of soul searching to do.
Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
It seems to me that the Ruiz loss messed with AJ's head. He's too tentative about letting his hands go at times, afraid of getting countered.

This isnt some astounding predicition. A lot of people said Usyk would win. Hes a lot better boxer
Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
There is a little bit of difference, I spoke about that three years ago (Usyk was still at CW), I predicted that he would be capable to beat every HW, only problem would be Fury.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021, 08:32 This isnt some astounding predicition. The great majority of posters spoke about size, weight, punch power.
Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
I was saying this at the height of this forum saying how the HW landscape changed and that we needed a SHW division because of Klitschko, Joshua, and Wilder being virtually unbeatable due to their size. I said Usky could move up and beat Joshua without hesitation. Hugely different the landscape then and now. I wouldn't be patting myself on the back if I predicted that even early this year.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021, 08:32 This isnt some astounding predicition. A lot of people said Usyk would win. People were saying Usky couldn't even beat King Kong around this time.
Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
Where would the cutoff be for Super heavy? Wilder is not an abnormal weight for any heavy dating back even 30-40+ years.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021, 18:50I was saying this at the height of this forum saying how the HW landscape changed and that we needed a SHW division because of Klitschko, Joshua, and Wilder being virtually unbeatable due to their size. Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
Ortiz is still the #2 hw and would beat any non wilder opponent, am i right banny
Re: Someone called Usky beating Joshua easily years ago. Who was it?
I never argued that. I think it was getting overblown because Joshua and Klitschko were lucking unbeatable. I'd tag Briedis to move up and rock the HW division as well. I wouldn't sleep on Briedis. He destroyed Charr when he moved up, and he was green then. CW are smaller, but it's a tougher division and they have that balance of power and athleticism that is unmatched at HW. I remember when people were harping that Eddie Chambers would rule CW if he lost weight. Dude got scared back to HW because his fast hands weren't that fast at CWBandog wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021, 19:45Where would the cutoff be for Super heavy?
