Respect !
Respect !
Matchroom getting a bit stale and repetitive.
Every fight now they roll out the changing room photo of the two fighters shaking hands and embracing with a “respect” tagline .
Other promotors have also followed suit.
It’s nice to see of course, but it’s lost the “wow” factor it had when we didn’t get this immediate back stage footage.
Can’t keep rolling out the same things if you want to change the game !
Eddie separated himself from the game with his PR and social media savvy, but now he’s lost that edge and the quality of the actual boxing has also diminished.
He has a mega DAZN budget apparently but the shows are pretty average

Re: Respect !
There's a very short youtube clip from last night of Eddie being a little snappy with a fan after Joshua lost. A world apart from the persona in his IFL videos. Fwank would be proud...
Re: Respect !
Fighters and their teams often have breakfast the next morning together.
Manny is renowned for doing it.
I can hear a certain commentator saying "There's the respect!"

Re: Respect !
Respect is a word that is thrown around far too much these days, particularly since most people don't seem to know the meaning of the word.

The guy called him a pussy, Hearn quite within his rights to do what he did.JimJim2009 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021, 17:12 There's a very short youtube clip from last night of Eddie being a little snappy with a fan after Joshua lost. A world apart from the persona in his IFL videos. Fwank would be proud...

Re: Respect !
I thought he was shouting ‘F’in pussy’ at AJ. He 100% deserved the comeback. AJ may not have fought well but that’s mostly because he was fighting a guy who fought amazingly well and nullified him. AJ took more shots than in any fight before and was gone at the end - didn’t deserve to be called a pussy by a random.samwbr wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 04:57The guy called him a pussy, Hearn quite within his rights to do what he did.JimJim2009 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2021, 17:12 There's a very short youtube clip from last night of Eddie being a little snappy with a fan after Joshua lost. Hearn should have said, thanks for putting money in his back pocket.
The fella did shut his mouth when Hearn called him up on it.

Especially the ringside one. Koogs was trying to get as many early reactions as possible
Chis just kept saying, 'we're going to Saudi, I got my visa sorted.'
Also, Chisora asked Usyk for a rematch backstage.
Re: Respect !
Yes unacceptable behaviour by a coked up idiot …that’s the bed Eddie has made himself though .. he always promises a lot (too much) and people will be disappointed when he fails to deliver .. and of course some people will react like that when disappointed and drunk/HighRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 06:01Then he said Eddie Hearn you p*ssy..maverick23 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 05:34I thought he was shouting ‘F’in pussy’ at AJ. So AJ didn't win, he promoted the fight, we got a really good fight. It's on AJ to win, not Hearn.
Hearn does a great job. One of the best in the world today at what he does.
Re: Respect !
Ruthless : of course he delivered a show .. but surely that isn’t the kind of quality show you are expecting from the “best promoter” in the world.
Littered with mismatches , poor decisions.
This definitely doesn’t live up to the “game changed” rhetoric.
Typically his shows recently have been generally poor with one fight that saves the day ..
unfortunately for most people who went on Saturday a boxing masterclass from Usyk wasn’t enough to make up for the rest of the show

it was so bad that come the end of the usyk-joshua fight everybody was thinking that the judges would give Joshua the win. literally everybody. resigned to itknockout wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 15:15 Ruthless : of course he delivered a show .. but surely that isn’t the kind of quality show you are expecting from the “best promoter” in the world.
