Preliminary estimate released for Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley pay-per-view buys
As per Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley boxing event drew an estimated 480,000-500,000 buys.
The report indicates that other sources are suggesting the final figure could be slightly lower than that but ultimately, it’s going to be around the half a million range. Some will opt to see this as a decent outcome whereas others are of the belief that given the build it received, Paul vs Woodley probably should’ve done better in the long run.
The pay-per-view was available for $59.99 in the United States and went down in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
We're talking nearly $30m revenue

Woodley was boasting last week about them still counting numbers and how it would be near the Mayweather-Logan figures.
Triller never released Paul-Askrin numbers, but there was reports it did between 1.2m to 1.4 million buys.
If this is the case, the Paul-Woodley IMO is considered a flop.
It got more hype, was probably seen as a better fight than the Askrin one as well.

Lets say it did 500,000k buys at 60 a pop. Seems a bit lower than they would hope for but still 30 million revenue.
Undercard probably cost a million, Opponent 1 or 2 million, Event and advertising probably a couple of million. That leaves you with around 25 million left. Now the important question is what happens with that 25 million.
In the USA often the PPV host takes 50% (i think).... which is mental and outdated in the internet era. The fact that Jake paul signed a multi fight deal with showtime to me suggests he got a much better deal than that because he has options. That is the critical split, whatever contract he signed with showtime is maybe the most important of his carrer, and the difference between him making 10 million this fight, or 20 million this fight.

Yeh ur right. His contract is with Showtime. So he’s probably done some sort of Percentage deal. It’s a win/win for both. Without Paul, showtime would still be putting on the crappy PPV’s and PBC cards, with Paul, they’re making $$gregregegg wrote: ↑15 Sep 2021, 16:13 Lets say it did 500,000k buys at 60 a pop. Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley 'was FORBIDDEN from knocking out Jake Paul due to a clause in his contract', claims Conor McGregor's training partner Dillon Danis
'Tyron Woodley, from what I heard, had it in the contract that he was not allowed to knock out Jake Paul,' Danis said on the MMA Hour.
'I swear on anything, when he was against the ropes, I swear, that’s why when Jake Paul was against the ropes, Tyron Woodley didn’t hit him
'I’m telling you right now. It was in his contract where it said you’re not allowed to knock him out.'
Danis is notoriously outspoken on social media and has been known to make outrageous statements for clout so this theory will be taken with a large pinch of salt by fans.
The 28-year-old underwent a second knee surgery and is recovering ahead of what he hopes will be comeback next year.
He has engaged in a war of words with Paul for some time but his next fight will almost certainly be for Bellator.
