Usyk vs. AJ rematch clause activated (possibly Kiev in February 2022)
Re: Usyk vs. AJ rematch clause activated (possibly Kiev in February 2022)
It shouldn't happen. AJ has had those belts tied up in one way or another for 4 years now. He should have to do what everyone else does and have 2 or 3 'bounce back' fights before being allowed a title shot again. There are so many good up-and-comers at the moment, let someone else have a shot.
Re: Usyk vs. AJ rematch clause activated (possibly Kiev in February 2022)
Usyk should choose the US as the rematch place, as it will probably cause AJ having nightmares.

Hearn will do everything he can to not figt in Kiev. Joshua's fragile confidence would evaporate walking into an arena where everybody is against him.
Re: Usyk vs. AJ rematch clause activated (possibly Kiev in February 2022)
Go to the mans backyard,Usyks earned it,he clowned AJ and took his mantle, why think you can have it on your terms again like you're in any position to dictate after that showing
Re: Usyk vs. AJ rematch clause activated (possibly Kiev in February 2022)
so many factors , ie whats in the contract / who can stump up enough ££££ to hold it / does Hearn present the UK as a much better location financially / maybe Ukraine cant fill a stadium of fight fans ..
Re: Usyk vs. AJ rematch clause activated (possibly Kiev in February 2022)
Yeah from a business sense it probably still is a bigger fight in England, but from a sporting sense it should be in Kiev
We all know money talks though

If I was Joshua I’d want to rest for a bit. Take a year off. Get out of the limelight. Get away from the pressure.

Where the rematch will take place and the purse split will depend entirely on what was specified in the original fight contract.
What’s fair is irrelevant. Joshua doesn’t have to travel to his backyard or give up the lions share.
If Usyk signed a contract stipulating rematch venue and purse amounts, that’s that.

Hearn confirmed there was no venue stip on the contract.Frostieballs wrote: ↑29 Sep 2021, 11:48 Where the rematch will take place and the purse split will depend entirely on what was specified in the original fight contract.

Maybe Vitali can have some sway being the major of Kiev.
I’m guessing they could make this fight massive in Ukraine
Aren’t the Russian and Ukrainians brought up to be over the top manly? Surely fighting sports over there are the main sports?

Ice Hockey is probably a bigger sport

If Saudi brings in the big bucks the fight will go there, it's all about moneyRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Sep 2021, 11:53Hearn confirmed there was no venue stip on the contract.Frostieballs wrote: ↑29 Sep 2021, 11:48 Where the rematch will take place and the purse split will depend entirely on what was specified in the original fight contract.

Saudi made no money off the last fight really did they?
But they did it for exposure, as in look at us. We’re open for all.
Don’t see why they can’t pack that Jeddah stadium, the new one they build. 60k+

They will turn out in their droves for a world heavyweight championship fight, especially with Vitali cheerleading.

I don't think there's any chance of it being in Kiev - this has Wembley written all over it!!!
