Loves himself doesn’t he? Look at his own website:

https://www.garethadavies.com/

Claims he’s “the most read Sports writer in Europe” (not the world…… yet)

Anyway I had to laugh at Bob Arum rinsing him recently:

He looks about 60 but seems active in boxing only recently….. what was he doing before?

He conned Pete Buckley into giving him an interview and then slated him in the piece.
I think it was more him trying to get publicity for himself, as it seemed he was starting out.
And then he came on here lamely trying to defend it saying it was the editor who changed it but we sent him away with his tail between his legs.

He's living the dream for boxing nuts though isn't he. Not much jobs in boxing journalism these days, even for the top guys it's been merged with MMA.

Even Paul Smith and Tony Bellew left here because of the abuse! This joker had no chance!

Smith got some snarkiness but AIR Bellew was given fair dues, as were the likes of Gavin and Woodhouse. Mind, I think Curtis was a forum pet because A he was such a dude and his backstory and whatever and B he just came across as loving it all so much. Also the line ‘can’t wait to punch Derry Matthews in the face, I’ve got such an amazing job when I can batter him and get paid instead of locked up’. Damn I had some man love for Curtis

It's difficult to think of a bigger wankstain in the sport than this creepy, old twat.

His knowledge of boxing is minimal, yet he's everywhere spouting verbal diarrhea and crawling up the backside of every fighter he interviews. I'm amazed a few of them don't tell him to eff off.

Why anybody employs him to talk about a sport he's totally unqualified to speak on is a mystery to me.

For me, Paul Smith was more sinned against than sinner - he had some twats on her trolling him big time - one called robpalmer135 had a real bee in his bonnet about him and I had a chat with Paul Smith by PM about it - how robpalmer135 would love to have done what he has done with his life but he never had the ability (nor did I...) and he wrote back an eloquent defence that he is human and he responds to uncalled for crap off idiotic people - which the worst of the trollers were.

I wish Paul Smith well in his life. :TU:

i think it was actually ron lewis

i didnt read the article, but i dont think it's unfair to criticize the practice of continually not trying to win fights. that said obviously buckley wasnt the 'worst boxer in the world' as titled, there are pros who could never even win 1 fight let alone 32

i much preferred tony booth to buckley myself. got stopped more, but having only half the fights of buckley he still scored double the wins and draws. he averaged a win/draw every 1 in 3 fights and was more entertaining in his losses too. even when he lost he'd often give it a go and only revert into survival/journeyman mode when he started gassing due to being out of shape - i get the impression that his only training was the fighting he did

lost a ton, but then again how many brits score 52 wins?

Maybe! But in light of this he gets a pass from me! Tbh I haven't really read or listened to his stuff to make an informed opinion, and I am still feeling a bit stupid!

if you have the chance to watch his tv input for longer than 15 seconds i imagine you'll arrive at a similar conclusion.... his cheerleading during (EG) Garcia- Luke Campbell was nauseating
