A bad opponent got even worse, Muratov is unknown in his own house, Avanesyan/Taylor should be bill topper, I get that Eubank Jr is the name on the card but they should've made him fight a live opponent to kick things off, this doesn't cut it

BoxRec's current rankings

Eubank is ranked 4th
Muratov is 155th

Doesn't look like much of a fight and BoxRec's rankings are usually a fair indicator...

Eubank Jr is clearly intent on finagling his way to a title shot, without taking on any real challenges.

He got an early tilt at Saunders, which he performed well in, but really, he's not done much since except talk about fighting the likes of GGG without doing anything to merit the shot.

There will probably be some alphabet belts going vacant next year at 160 and 168, if Canelo moves up to 175 and GGG retires. GGG is 40 next April he probably only has a couple fights left including Murata.

I don't think Eubank will get a fight with Canelo or GGG, he hasn't really done anything to get those fights. He hasn't even got an alphabet belt like Plant or Murata.

I'd say it may be Liam Williams in December. A good Saturday fight night bout but hopefully not the start of some nonsense PPV stuff.

I think it’ll be Williams too and agree - really good Saturday night fight night, really poor PPV.

Junior’s a charlatan but you can’t blame him for accepting the money time after time to fight hopelessly overmatched opponents. Sky are the real culprits.

In Eubanks defence he did fight Koroborov who a very decent middleweight. I don't think he's necessarily afraid of fighting decent middleweights but perhaps his management want to build up his hype by having him blow away over matched opposition, then cash out on big fight.

I’d be ok with that if they didn’t say that Liam Williams and Kell Brook would be warm out fights and then he fights Morrison and this guy.

Williams vs CEJ would be a great fight and would surely sell.

Card still goes ahead.

BBBofC unable to clear Muratov on medical grounds.

Very late in the day.

Why let him weigh in?

Wouldn’t Wasserman/Boxxer have let BBBofC know beforehand they had him in mind..

First Sky card since Matchroom and it’s flopped.

Hmm. Very late in the day - we’ve known about this guy for a few days now. Surely it should have been rubber stamped by the BBBC before even announcing the fight?

Other than on Sky Sports’ and Sky Sports News there’s been little build up for this. Kalle’s been doing a bit on YTube etc but Adam Smith seems to be doing the majority of the talking for the show. If the show doesn’t involve a Wasserman boxer then will Adam be the main hype guy like Eddie was before?

It gets from bad to worse for Sky's new era. Should have gave Mick Hennessy the gig.

Eddie will be laughing.

I'm pretty happy we don't get to see Eubank lounging around wasting time showing off vs a low level guy. It was a complete waste of time like the Morrison fight.

You'd think they might have check his certs etc when he was booked to replace the original guy. At least it wasn't a decent fight I was looking forward to

Its amateur hour at Sky with this Boxxer link up. What has Boxxer/Ben Shalom done to be Sky's boxing promoter? Doesn't even do interviews ?

It's very strange from Sky, they seem to think they can basically do it all themselves and be the de facto promoters.

As this week has shown they can't. They pumped this show up for weeks on their channels and it's now an absolute mess. Nevermind the poor sods who bought tickets.

There's a great thread on Shalom over at OTH:

Sky’s new advert looks a bit sh1t now doesn’t it.

‘Chris Eubank Jr. I need no introduction. Well I do but only once every 18 months because that’s how often I fight.’
