Note that Marku is stopping on Sky.

Anyone know the boxers that the Hearns are suing Sky for? Are they the announced boxers or not?
Marku owed Boxxer one fight from fighting on one of their shows previously I think. Saying that the press release says he’s signed a deal with Boxxer so who knows.

Just finished the show.

Overall it’s not too different to the Matchroom days. The poet/rapper guy at the start was a bit cringe.

I like the white ring and the new MC seems to be fairly good.

There didn’t seem to be many people there and it didn’t seem close to being a full set up. I wonder if people had the chance of refunds?! Would have been pretty tough to sort at late notice.

I’ve always been fairly indifferent to Adam Smith. I don’t rate him as a commentator but I also don’t hate him like some do on here. I found he was trying too hard last night and looking to oversell the show.

That new device they put on the fighters was pretty pointless - it didn’t really add any decent insight in my opinion.

Riakporhe fight - more competitive than I thought it’d be and a good one to get the rust out of the system. Hopefully he does fight in November. One of the criticisms I’ve got of Matchroom is the inactivity of some of their fighters - fighting regularly will help build his profile and keep him sharp.

Brown/Ledoux - a good domestic fight. They should aim to have a fight like this on every show - a domestic fight between 2 fairly even guys trying to win is better than a more well known fighter against a guy whose selling point is ‘they’ve been stopped’.

Ebanie Jones - she seemed to have more fans there than any of the blokes! Awful fight that should have been on YouTube with one of the YT fights on this show.

Avanesyan/Taylor - exactly as expected. Avanesyan is never in a bad fight, is a strong European champ/fringe world level fighting a guy who is borderline British title level. It reminded me of the David Walker vs Karmazin fight from back in the day. I didn’t have a problem with the stoppage - one more punch and he’d have been out cold I think. Taylor’s punches didn’t have any impact and most shots were landing on the gloves.

Sam Jones has come and said Marku hasn’t signed a deal with Boxxer, the fight isn’t currently a title fight as mentioned in their presser and their presser has other mistakes too like saying Caroline Dubois was an Olympic medalist.

I really didn't like the white ring , it might be my old eyes but it looked too bright and wasn't easy to focus on the fighters .
Might be cos it's something really different , I don't know .

All it takes is a lot of blood in one of the undercard fights and the ring will look dreadful covered in blood splatter for the main event.

That’s like the UFC. By the main event there’s blood all over the canvas.

Another notch on the European title for Avanesyan. Fourth title defence. That's an impressive achievement.

Definitely a well timed stoppage by the referee :TU:

Fair play to Taylor for giving it a proper go, but Avanesyan was classes apart and way too strong.

The only fight I have any interest in seeing Connor Benn in is with Avanesyan, challenging for the European title.
