This is such garbage. AJ is an elite level boxer with a big S&C team and will be training for boxing... he just happens to have more fast twitch muscle fibers than slow...Dioufy wrote: ↑03 Oct 2021, 13:10 Maybe Fury was bang on. Joshua is just a bodybuilder and doesn’t do ‘beyond the limit’ cardio as it will affect his physique. AJ needs to decide whether he’s a 250lb banger… balls deep, ect box-fighter or a 230lb mover who boxers and can sustain a high-work.
He’s in-between at the moment and he’s lost an identity.

Re: AJ’s Cardio routine - What can he do to improve it?
I think Joshua’s cardio must be reasonable for his size. I recall he won the mountain bike event at Superstars back in the day. Mo Farah very nearly beat him in the javelin, which I guess goes to show size isn’t everything. I think it’s a bit late in the day to expect too many changes. There’s always going to be a couple of boxers out there who can outbox him.

Also as we've just seen, Joshua clocked under 12 seconds as an olympic super heavyweight - so I think we can conclude that you were wrong.

I think the 100m stuff is pretty irrelevant to boxing. Couldn’t Larry Olubamiwo run one in 11 seconds in his youth? I do have a feeling Frank Bruno might be the one struggling to crack 15 seconds.

Built for short Explosive power events , bet he's pants at 1500 metres .

Re: AJ’s Cardio routine - What can he do to improve it?
Yes from a cardio point of view I suspect there’s not a huge amount to be done. Regardless of 100 metres, I suspect you’d never really be able to get him under 40 minutes for 10km, which most lower level club runners can do. At this advanced stage of his career I think you’d have to say Usyk and Fury are definitely a bridge too far for him. Joshua was fortunate in career to only have to fight the 41 year old version of Wlad, and only have a lot of B grade type fighters to deal with there after.

Gifted at least three of the decisions. As you well know. The mediocre Italian made him look silly.

I’d have to revisit them to be honest but from memory they were questionable decisions rather than outrageous gifts.coghaugen11 wrote: ↑04 Oct 2021, 15:49Gifted at least three of the decisions. As you well know. The mediocre Italian made him look silly.
On the wider issue, how would you define elite level boxer ?

Sr deserves immense respect for staying away from the cameras lately and allowing Roy and Jr to receive the attention. Imagine how hard that is for a notorious attention seeker and narcissist.

'immense respect' just for not having his photo taken?
your 'immense respect' bar is set pretty low. But then, that's hardly a news flash.

Running 100m is nothing realy. Doesn’t matter how quick you do it. It’s over within seconds.
He couldn’t do a Mo Farah could he? Or a mini marathon?
He’s in the ring for 40 mins fighting. Not 15 seconds.

Re: AJ’s Cardio routine - What can he do to improve it?
That was the whole point - his 100m prowess (derived from his natural fast twitch muscle fibres) being detrimental to having extensive endurance.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Oct 2021, 05:07 Running 100m is nothing realy. Doesn’t matter how quick you do it. It’s over within seconds.
