The Most Entertaining Fighter in England ?

Post by KiwiRider »

Who is the Most Entertaining Fighter in England ?

They don't have to be world class, they don't have to be unbeaten.
But they do have to entertain inside the ring.
And be currently active.
We don't care about press conferences, social media, interviews - just what they do in the ring, win or lose.
So who has never been in a boring fight?
Who gives it everything, every time?

I will compile your suggestions into a poll in a week or so, and we can vote. :salut:

Josh Taylor should win this, since he has been fighting absolutey best opposition available, always in action-packed bouts with a high display of boxing.

Never a boring fight. Gives it everything even when out boxed or out gunned. Never shys away from a challenge.

Good call.
I was actually hoping we would get a bit more "grass roots" here.
You know, not just the super stars, but guys who maybe don't have what it takes to get to world level but still have fans on the edges of their seats.

He would be my top choice. Should be another decent tilt with Williamson coming up.

Pricey worth a mention. A kill-or-be-killed guy.

Guys, I'm sorry I screwed up. I originally wanted to do England, but decided it was more inclusive to do the UK. Then our esteemed crew pointed out to ne the glaringly obvious Josh Taylor
True, and end of.. So I've changed it back to England .
Forgive me

Some I agree with - some less so.

Egginton is who sprang to mind with me.

I wouldn't but Joshua in the league of some of these - big pyro's and lots of hype and interviews - but the Parker and Takam were dull, the Ruiz rematch was a snoozefest and the Pulev fight wasn't great.

There's maybe been a couple of Joshua's fights that weren't stellar but the ref ruined the Parker fight for both, neither were able to work up close, Takam he eventually got out of there, maybe slightly premature but there was no doubt the wheels were coming off and looked like the ref saved Takam from a legit stoppage, the Ruiz rematch was a necessary tactic which showed a different side to Joshua's arsenal, I don't think Joshua was at his best against Pulev but empathetic KO and a pretty entertaining fight in my book, the list of his entertaining fights far outweighs the boring

Defo up there, when in with a boxer like Skeete and Mimmoune he's rendered useless but overall he's must watch, the Jkitou fight a couple weeks ago was insane

Go and rewatch all 12 rounds of the Klitchko fight, I dare you!
It was a masterclass of mental intimidation but not entertainment.

Agree with those who said Cheeseman, he was the first one who sprang to mind.

Not strictly following the rules of entry but a fighter who’s been in great fights every time I’ve seen him box in the uk is kiko martinez

I had to narrow it down to English fighters because there are some worthy guys up for debate.
And yeah, Kiko is class, even his losses to Josh, Carl etc :salut:

His fight with Zelfa Barrett too. Great scrap, shame it ended up in daylight bloody robbery :brick:
