Helenius - Jah

too big of a step up, or realistically ambitious for an impressive talent?

Think jah smashes him. Hele is slow and a bit brittle, Kownaki just spent round one at the worst possible range not moving, and from there on he was so dammaged that he could never get back in it.. but i doubt they step him up that big just yet.

DDD vs hele is what i want.

Kownacki had more than a year and a half to prepare for the fight, he knew the opponent and his style in advance and he failed completely.

Did he expect Helenius to give up his size advantage and trade with him like Arreola, or what?
Because there was no gameplan, and he was still as overweight as usually.

And for the record I like Kownacki, it just makes me more disappointed since he lost it in a really bad style and I do not see him getting back from there. One loss could be a fluke, but two in a row without making any adjustment...

And what could he do? He's simply worse. Helenius is a well-taught boxer with punching power. Adam is just a tough fighting pudding.

He could go down to 240 for example (more than enough time for it) and work on the mobility. Good part of the problem in the first fight was that he was not able to cut the distance effectively. And judging by the 1st round (the only one that is fair to compare as he was hurt afterwards) he has not done it. If anything, it looked even worse than before.

Do we know why he was so bad?
I've seen ten of his fights and he was really letting his hands go in every one, and showed stamina and grit. Yet last night he was terrible, drained, sluggish and lethargic. His jab was a dolphin flipper, and because of that he gave Helenius nothing to think about.

Here we go:.

LAS VEGAS – Adam Kownacki suffered a career-altering injury almost as soon as his fight started Saturday night.

Keith Connolly, Kownacki’s manager, confirmed to BS.com on Sunday morning that the Polish heavyweight sustained a fractured left orbital bone during the first round of his sixth-round, technical-knockout loss to Robert Helenius

I knew there was a reason why he was so bad last night.

Kownacki reminds me too much of Abdusalamov. I'm sure he can win a few matches in a spectacular way but as soon as he faces a guy who can box he will get destroyed again. Surely he can rebuild himself fighting nobody just to get to a big fight but he can really get crippled if a fight goes the wrong way.
As for Helenius, I really hope he wins his next fight and gets a really good opportunity. He deserves to get a good payday.

That just ends up of one of them being even more over rated... both are prime for the taking, i want someone young to get em. What i would realy love is Jah vs helly and DDD vs ortiz, but lets dial back closer to reality, DDD vs hele, Takem vs ortiz.

Too old.
I'm writing guys off over 35 if they don't already have a proper belt because it takes so long for a chance at one.
Lokk at how long Uysk had to wait, and Whyte still has nothing concrete.
So if your 35 your going to be 38 or more before you get a title shot

A super matchup. Really intriguing. Still gotta favor the Finn, his resume and recent performances are better.
