I enjoyed it for its rawness, that wasn't boxing, that was two blokes trying to smash each others faces in.

At the end of the day Fury beat the guy who had knocked out everyone ( pretty much before him) he looks like a moving lump of shit but he did a number on wilder. The undercard was pretty good too. The problem with fury is he looks like a sumo wrestler more than a boxer and that will always go against him

It’s just an opinion which seemingly goes against the grain here. No problem, but try offering one?

I'd be surprised if Fury performs as badly as that again. He seemed to me unusually angry and on edge in the last few days of build-up and even the ringwalk - maybe knowing his preparations weren't ideal. He looked heavy, soft and lethargic.

But still of course pulled it off! Fury may not have the greatest chin in the world, but his powers of recovery are really something.

Actually, Fury did only two mistakes:

1. Too much weight.
2. Too careless after smelling blood in the 4th.

Apart from that, it was a dominant obliteration of a dosser.

Well like everyone else i really enjoyed the fight it had everything , build up , drama , knock downs , Now it did show what everyone already knew , that Wilder is'nt really a good boxer in fact he's quite shite ,, It also showed Wilder is a very dangerous puncher which everyone knew , But what we did'nt know or believe he had was the determination and the heart he shown , making him dangerous through out .

But regards Tyson i was impressed with his boxing too be honest i did'nt think he was that good ,, his tactics were perfect ,, when he came out in the first , i noticed how he was boxing tall , making Wilder reach with his jabs , ready to counter with the right , he then changed , , I know i was screaming at the tele , hooks , hooks , and more hooks , make Wilder keep his right hand up not loaded ,, he also nullified the right hand by making Wilder come a bit square on , then fired his own rihgt in , later he started using the uptrcut to perfection , and mixing left hooks in it ,, remember these guys are giants energy has to be conserved , tactic;ly Fury wass brilliant ,, and the fact that he went down just shown how careful he had to be ..

Terrific fight ,, Fury too big for Usyk ,, not sure about Joyce though for me he's the one to keep an eye on , bit of a dark horse is Jocye

We have to remember these guys are not like the heavyweights of yesteryear who were more like cruiserweights there monsters there skills and technique are never going to shine , but Tysons ring craft does , he just boxed really well for a mamoth monster

It may not have been pretty or full of quality, but what a spectacle.

Particularly towards the end - two giants stood there trading.

Their conditioning though was slightly concerning. Wilder seemed to lack energy from when he left the dressing room - and was like Bambi on ice even before he got hurt.

Fury has some amazing Diesel engine like stamina, but was definitely not in the best of condition. Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s motivation, but the time will come soon when his determination and stubbornness might not be enough to get him through.

He can do a bit of everything - box, fight, switch-hit…
Oh, and he’s 19 stone with a good chin and engine.

Silly thread.

Much prefer Usyk' chances against Fury than Joyce - Fury is all wrong for Joyce - way too slow and plodding and I don't think he is a sharp puncher.

We will see more "old school" Fury and a comfortable points win. Fury is a better fighter than when he fought Chisora - I don't think Joyce is as good as THAT Chisora.

Usyk though I think could cause problems - he has superior hand speed than Fury and he has good stamina. Fury is a strong man but I still don't think he has AJ power.

I think the early tactics that Wilder adopted with the jab to the body will be something that Usyk will enjoy seeing the success of.

I think it depends when you definition of overated.

Paul Dempsey described Fury has the best heavyweight boxer in many years.

Have people already forgoton about the prime years of Wlad?

I guess it depends on whether you think Fury beat a near prime Wlad?

A minute ago in other thread you said Wlad weren't all that? He beat Wlad away from home, unbeaten in 11 years. Fact.
Wlad is number 2 all time heavy on Boxrec rankings.

The haters won't relent and admit they were wrong about Fury. This goes back to the old days on forums when same people were saying Fury ducked David Price, and Price would batter Fury.

It's funny, how now people tell about Wlad being past prime. In its time Wlad-Fury was seen as a mismatch by nearly everyone, no one simply knew, how good Fury was.

Fury is the standout HW of this era, appreciate him why he’s here. The mans a giant who moves better than a lot of the cruiser weights and has got skills that a lot of the HW could only dream of. Add to it his heart and his personality and you’ve got yourself a star in and out of the ring. The man is underrated not overrated

Exactly. At the time on the forums I remember being one of the few picking Fury, and even then it was more in hope than expectation. I'm still surprised he actually got the decision, Wlad was the money man in Germany. German boxing been on the slide since then.

If Fury is 100% then he beats every heavyweight out there.

But its rare for a sportsperson to be 100%. Happens a lot less frequently than many might think.

I think Usyk has the best chance as he's a technically proficient boxer who brings something different to the table so if Fury isn't 100% then Usyk could cause him some problems.

I think Fury beats Wilder and Joshua every single time. These guys are still talking about working on basics in their 30s. Fury is light years ahead of both of them.

Fury is the man. Pointless trying to put dampeners from the past on it, he’s got to where he’s got to regardless.

Did he deserve to lose to McDermott first time around? Yeah I thought so but I also think had he not got the nod he would have progressed almost identically in the long run to his World title shot.

Did he duck Price? Possibly. Irrelevant now.

The British way is to knock people when they’re on top. Had Tyson failed to get up in the 4th rd this thread would probably have been titled “Is Wilder the worst lineal champ in history”

And we could have then got out all our various photos of Shannon Briggs.
