Clinton Woods contract, professionalism at its best

Post by Perfect Punch »

I heard today clinton woods received some contracts to sign for the glen johnsen fight.

He thought it was very funny because he was sent both a promotional contract as well as a fight contact. I thought when a promoter wins the purse bids for a fighter from another promotional firm to fight on his show, the winning promoter needs to send a 1 fight contract which gives amongst other things:

the date of the fight subject of the winning purse bid
the venue of the fight
the money involved
the name of the opponent
the weight the fight has been made at

my mate said that lot in sheffield pissed themselves laughing because they could not believe something like this would happpen surely promotional firms are very good and professional and they would not allow something like this to happen.

Did whoever sent this contract think clinton woods would be stupid enough to sign it?

A professional promotional firm wouldn't allow themselves to be outbid by their biggest rival, especially for a fight that doesn't feature one of said promotional firms fighters.

Seemingly so. As someone who's 'done the rounds' with all the promotional firms you're hardly in a position to comment.

A little gentle reminder that posting under different alias' (different user accounts) is going against the rules of the forum.
