Berlanga

Brilliant jab. Just amazing. Hits you like a sledgehammer. :box:

Solid power. Needs to develop his footwork though because he throws a lot of shots off balance.

Bad defense. Really bad.

The first guy with decent footwork and positioning (hail to argentine boxing), and it is tricky... absurd power and physical prowess can falter a lot if balance and IQ lack.

Pretty crazy how close it was to being finished when he was rocked. I might have to rewatch but it seemed like it was saved by the bell late in the fight?

I don’t think he was that out. Got up pretty easily. If you watch the replay you’ll see the knockdown was mainly because he threw the left hook very off balance and got hit before he reset his feet. Then he went down from trying to swing a right hand.

Dang. Changes my opinion a little bit. Hard to block shots when youre bicep is torn.

I thought Max K had a pretty good read. Slower fighters tens to rely on technique or timing, neither of which Berlanga showed a ton of o Saturday. He may still develop but that run of 1st round KOs probably stunted him a bit.

Rozier is a good trainer, Burlanga had a good amateur career-- both of which bode well for him. But I'm not sure his ceiling is that great.

It will depend on how bad the bicep is but he could be out over a year if it's a ruptured biceps tendon.

I had that happen. Framed a wall and went to push it up in place and my bicep tendon ruptured and the bicep muscle rolled all the way up to my shoulder. I wasn't able to lift more than 20lbs with that arm for 9 months and it was close to 18 months before I was back to normal.

it was not impressive and a lot of refinement necessary, although tbf coeceres is no slouch. was fighting practically evenly with billy joe saunders till being stopped in the 11th, even ahead on 1 card

i think it was a good win, he got of the floor against that wanted to put him there, he won most of not all the rds , and them rds are doing him well as he wants to be more than just relying on power.
