castro is crude as hell for a guy with that much am experience, after hearing about all his am accomplishments i was rather shocked seeing him in action

figures to be in some good scraps once he gets matched with opponents who have pulses

Jarvis/Frias - really good fight. Jarvis throws big with every shot but is pretty wide open. Seems tight at the weight but did well to make it through the second round after he was clearly hurt. All his work was on the inside and he’s too open to just do that. Needs to box more on the outside and combine it with the inside work to move on. Good learning fight for him and another Mexican ‘journeyman’ we’ve seen really bring it. Early stoppage, particularly after how Jarvis was in the second but I think the stoppage was coming.

Rodriguez/Burgos - good performance by Rodriguez. Excellent combination for the knockdown in the 4th and then didn’t rush the finish.

Gonzalez/Soto - thought Gonzalez deserved it although at times Gonzalez was making a big deal out of small issues. Soto just couldn’t cut off the ring well enough.

Castro/Luna - Not sure how Luna went the distance with Farmer. He was really poor, feet and head were stationary and barely threw a shot. Castro looked good though - picked his shots nicely.

Garcia/Martin - Garcia shouldn’t be fighting above 140. Looks soft in there, without power and not sharp at all. Martin looked good and boxed as well as he could. I’m surprised he got it - probably wouldn’t have if it had been in the U.K.

Amazing the judges got that right tbh.
I was expecting 99-91 x3 for Garcia.
Huge upset but that definitely shows that Garcia is on the slide… Martin fought immense but he won that by throwing straight lefts and moving to his right all night. Garcia should’ve been able to figure it out.
I had it 96-94 Martin.

I think this was more about Garcia being bad than Martin being that good but the Spaniard will be rewarded with some big fights now.

Exactly the point I was trying to put across. Martin was limited and beat Garcia by doing the basics very well.
Any sharp top 15 light welter beats Martin.

Good to see Gonzalez get a fair shake on cards, well at least 2 of them, I had him winning 116-112 as well, Soto really struggled to pin him down, he marched forward for 12 rounds but was chasing shadows and strugged to get off, Gonzalez boxed beautifully at times, excellent footwork, never stayed still, walked Soto on to counters then danced out if danger, he was able to keep pace up all night as well, Soto had a late surge of sorts, tried to attack the body of Gonzalez but Gonzalez finished back in control, real tricky customer Gonzalez

Anyone more dislikeable than Lopez senior in boxing? Apart from of course Shannon Courtney.
Would love to see Hainey do a 120-108 over Lopez.
Good fight.

Garcia was terrible, flat isn't the word, I had it 96-94 Martin, his southpaw stance and constant movement befuddled Garcia who looked slow and ponderous, no speed or sharpness whatsoever, paid the price for complacency, no sympathy for him and I'm happy for Martin, one of the biggest upsets in recent memory

I’ve not watched this yet, but very disappointed to read all the reports / opinions etc. Mikey used to be one of my favourite fighters, but he’s looked pretty awful for a few years now.
