wilder vs 2001 mike tyson

Post by margaret thatcher »

who takes this battle of long tall bomber vs short squat bomber

tyson was past his best in the 2000s, but his run of kos around that time wasnt so unlike wilders

A who-lands-first matchup. Back then Tyson still could bang, but was opened and quite slow for truly good competitors. Wilder obviously has a lot of flaws, but his punching power and delivering abilities are excellent.

An in shape Tyson would be fits for Wilder.A boxer of Wilders dimensions, would be a nightmare for this version of Tyson .But Wilder is not a boxer. He doesn't possess the jab that's needed against the fast bobbing and side to side quick advances of Tyson.Nor is he fast nor fluid on his feet.
Fighting a skilled short fighter can be as much a problem as fighting a tall skilled fighter.
I think Wilder would "try" to use his jab in a failed attempt to keep Tyson back as he hurls his right hand that easily misses its target as Tyson gets in close and hammers away with the type of combinations Wilder lacks and batters him to a 4th Rd ko

Tyson kicks his ass for a few rounds, and he either KO's Wilder or slowly loses his desire to fight, and packs it in when he takes a hard shot back.

That's my guess, at least.
tyson was faded, but he was still ko'ing the type of opposition that wilder mostly built himself on and beat in his title reign

after returning from the 2nd holyfield lost, ko'd botha, saverese, golota, nielsen. none went past 6. dont think that group as a whole is any lower than say brezeale, szpilka, washington, molina, etc

2001????

Wilder basically annihilates Mike Tyson.

The only guys that version of Tyson could beat was dudes like Brian Nielsen, and it took Tyson seven rounds to do it. I was a huge Mike Tyson fan but that version of him doesn't stand a chance against Wilder.

he was koing opposition comparable to most of wilder's, and even did so after lewis ko''d him. in late 2000 he stopped golota in 2 rounds, better than most of wilder's opponents

from 99-2003 he ko'd golota, botha, savaerese, ettiene, and nielsen all in 6 rounds or fewer

no worse really than szpilka, molina, duhaupas, washington, brezeale etc

Tyson would be out boxing him for a few rounds and if he didn’t get him out of there would have been taken out by a right hand sooner or later a 90’s Tyson would have won and an 80’s Tyson would of destroyed wilder

This is NOT a serious question. Wilder KO1.

Their primes? Mike Tyson KO1.

Tyson was going through that phase of boxing easy opponents, this was after he came out of jail in 2001.
He was still raw but not quite the same.
Tyson stops Wilder.

i mean, if tyson was still good enough to ko andrew golota in 2, and to go 8 with lewis a year and a half later (vitali only went 6), is he reaally a 1 round job? is he really any worse in 2001, having just ko'd golota, than molina, duhaupas, a faded arreola, szpilka, and other guys who gave dw rounds?

Oh, I don't care who wins, I just wish Deontay and Tyson would dress nicely like they used to.

Golota was a bit of a quitter and I don't think Mike Tyson could have slipped Wilder's right by 2001. In their primes, Mike T vs Carl Williams I believe answers how Wilder would have done.
