What was the reasoning behind Browne being pulled vs Babic....not defending that fight but that was so mysterious, did Browne not get a BbboC licence....I wonder if Browne could fight Wallin

It’s weird that Matchroom are on the back foot with this. Makes me think the injury is legit or that they weren’t aware Whyte was going to pull out until today.

Several websites are reporting it, Sky Sports are carrying quotes from Salita (Wallin’s promoter) and yet seemingly no word from Matchroom who were still pushing the fight as of yesterday and were promoting the show this morning.

I could be wrong but I doubt Hearn/DAZN are happy about this. It's probably their standout fight in the near future. Now they'll get another raft of cancellations on DAZN given they've upped the price and the next 2 cards are awful without this.

And they'll have thousands of ticket holders demanding refunds given how shit the card is now.

Supposedly Covid rules from Australia. But the reaction was poor to that fight

I was gonna cancel DAZN last week, my renewal date is 16th.

Then I though, yeh, Whyte’s card and Galahad’s card for £7.99 isn’t the worst.

But now Whyte’s off.

No other cards? Haney is December?

That one is worth it..

But it seems like I’ve been scammed £7.99 this month.

Even if I cancel now, my subscription is still active til Nov 15.

I had until Monday to renew at the higher rate...foolishly I renewed last Friday thinking that at least I'd get this fight for my £7.99.

If Whyte v Wallin had been a PPV the whole card would be called off and you'd get a refund if you'd booked. Under this DAZN they can advertise a load of cards and get you to subscribe and then call the lot off and you can claim zilch back

I have until the 29th before my 7.99 kicks in so I'll give it time. As it stands the next 2 UK cards are awful and not worth it and I don't think I'll stay up for any of the November US DAZN cards.

7.99 isn't much but it's more the principle.

Buying a ticket to a Boxing show in the UK now is risky business. Fights being cancelled left right and centre, issues with refunds and of course in many cases it's the main event gets cancelled.

Ticket sales were poor for this supposedly. With a high prices, it's time the paying fans stop getting conned. It's not right all this shady nonsense.

They could advertise Joshua v Fury and load up the subscriptions and cancel the fight at the last minute and no hope of a refund. Seems a shady way to operate as they've been giving this Whyte fight the big one with it not being PPV etc and then all of a sudden no fight

I looked last week because I was thinking of going and they’d sold at least 60%/70% of the place. Yes - I couldn’t see any sections that had fully sold out but there were several sections with only few tickets left.

Matchroom may have been expecting to sell the place out but has there been another show, outside of AJ/Warrington that’s done 12,000 tickets or more in the U.K. this year?

Yup. Boxing is by far the most disfunctionally managed sport there is. The financial context is bewildering, so much just doesn’t add up, the likes of PBC and MTK seemingly happy to make losses and pay well for crap, it’s fkin mental this sport.
