I have to say, I'd piss myself laughing if Fury dumped the belt.
To be fair to Whyte he's taken on quite a few tough fights of late, but these kind of stunts aren't good for the rep of the sport, and a lot of punters have lost out.

Well this was predictable. Once WBC said he was mando to fury (although I bet they backpeddle that for him pulling out), whyte was always going to wriggle out of this. Also probably didn’t help seeing AJ look hopeless vs a southpaw, whyte probably noted how tricky it can be there (and learnt decisions can go against brits).

Babic vs wallin would be a heroic step up. Too soon for fish to fight moline though. Big truck price out of retirement and in to that card savers cash fighting molina?peter barlow wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 12:59 I doubt you get any decent heavy on 10 days notice to fight Wallin.
Unless Babic gets it and Fisher fights Molina. Even then its weak as piss
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Otto Wallin | DAZN - 30 October 2021 (OFF)
Still nothing on either Matchroom or Hearns twitter feeds, you'd think they would want to let people know about that and not the Chantelle Cameron fight which was the last tweet

About 5 people on this forum said he would pull out.
But before everyone gets excited, lets see the x-ray

Babic Vs Wallin
I can't see them getting the likes of Wardley, Hrgovic, Nathan Gorman etc at this stage. Not much options
Kash Ali? Lol

Unless you count Ali's Vietnam years, Fury's been the only boxer to do this without losing face with his fans. Famously didn't work out for Bowe.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 14:55I have to say, I'd piss myself laughing if Fury dumped the belt.
I don't recall favourites ducking underdogs in previous eras? Because I fancied Whyte to catch Wallin at some point and stop him, and think that Fury probably outpoints Whyte. But Whyte's not risking it, and now Fury might feel the same way in turn!
Fury-Whyte makes a ton of sense alongside Usyk-Joshua, though. Hopefully with Joyce getting a shot at one of them next year.

Lennox Lewis also said in a press conference "I am not going to fight a Bird" (Chris Byrd) and it didn't affect him.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑20 Oct 2021, 19:13Unless you count Ali's Vietnam years, Fury's been the only boxer to do this without losing face with his fans. Lennox Lewis actually dropped the IBF belt in the hopes that Evander Holyfield would beat Chris Byrd, to set up a Jones-Holyfield WBA/IBF unification match, in the hopes that Jones would beat the aging Holyfield to set up a Jones-Lewis mega fight. Unfortunately for the true heavyweight champion of the world Byrd beat Holyfield and Jones went back to light heavyweight.

Hmm. Interesting decision. It’s a really poor card now, particularly for DAZN. If this is what they’re doing then you wonder why it took so long to sort/announce yesterday.
I always think that if you’ve got one good, competitive domestic fight at British level on the undercard then you’ve got a decent backup ready to go for TV.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Otto Wallin | DAZN - 30 October 2021 (OFF)
My thoughts are Otto won’t take a replacement fight no matter what. Because if it’s replaced it’s almost done. He will try make wbc force this as an elliminator, wallin figures he is probably 1 fight and a bit of lawyering away from being wbc mandatory.
Dave Allen will get the call even though he was out hurt 3 weeks ago… can’t decide if they will go strait for Allen vs babic, and molina vs someone else, or Allen vs a tune up and keep babic vs molina.
Fucked up if you paid for tickets to this…

Yeah - I’d be looking for a refund if I’d booked tickets. Not quite as easy as people may have booked trains or hotels to go to it which may not be refundable.gregregegg wrote: ↑21 Oct 2021, 02:35 My thoughts are Otto won’t take a replacement fight no matter what. Allen’s been pretty clear that he’s not interested in thought fights yet. After the way he retired I’d be really surprised and disappointed if Matchroom even consider him as an opponent.

It's a crock of shit the whole thing really. Another fake injury to hoodwink ticket buyers and subscribers.
And now some women's fight to headline, not even a replacement fight. Not sure how it will work in the O2.
Either way I think I'll cancel DAZN now like others until they get their house in order and schedule improves. Next 2 UK cards are toilet. I'm not sure there is any competitive fights on there much less quality ones.

Whyte on Injury: I'm Devastated, I Was Looking Forward To Knocking Wallin Out
"I am devastated about not being able to fight on October 30 but I want to thank everyone for all of their support."
"I have treated the injury, but the injury will unfortunately prevent him from fighting on October 30 2021. With immediate rest, physiotherapy and rehabilitation there should be no enduring concerns."
“Dillian carried this injury for the last couple of weeks but it worsened in sparring on Monday night and it was impossible for him to continue,” said Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn.
“It’s a huge shame because Dillian had a great camp before the injury and was ready to go. The show will continue on October 30 without Dillian and we wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the ring very soon.”
“We wish Dillian all the very best in his recovery and look forward to him fighting on DAZN again very soon,” said Joseph Markowski, DAZN EVP. “The Super-Lightweight unification matchup between Chantelle Cameron and Mary McGee now tops the bill, as both fighters battle it out in the road to Undisputed. We look forward to delivering that thrilling main event and the rest of the action-packed card on October 30, live from The O2 and to DAZN subscribers around the world.”

Yeah you were going to knock Wallin out but no word of rescheduling it. He shit his pants and faked injury in a con job.
Enough of the woe is me act from this character and his supporters.
