Jarrell Miller Now Training With Kevin Cunningham, Hopes For Early 2022 Return

"Jarrell Miller Now Training With Kevin Cunningham, Hopes For Early 2022 Return"

Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (23-0-1) has resumed training.

The former heavyweight contender has joined forces with world class trainer Kevin Cunningham and is working at his South Florida training facility.

His last ring appearance was back in 2018 when he stopped Bogdan Dinu in 4 rounds in Kansas.

He infamously missed out on a nearly $5 million payday in 2019 for a fight against then unified champion Anthony Joshua due to multiple failed tests for performance enhancing drugs.

In 2020 he signed a co-promotional deal with Top Rank but was released when he failed another test for a banned substance prior to his scheduled July 9th promotional debut against Jerry Forrest. Top Rank released Miller shortly thereafter.

Cunningham said Miller is doing everything by the book and promised that he won’t have any more issues.

Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller’s skillset is second to no other heavyweights in boxing. I’ll help him take things to another level from a skill and technique standpoint. Everybody that knows me, knows that I’m a straight shooter and above board with everything I do. Big Baby has assured me that he’s following all commission protocols to rectify his past situation. I’ve always believed in second chances,” Cunningham told BS.com.

According to Cunningham, Miller is hoping to return to action early in 2022 in a meaningful fight. If he is successful, Cunningham would like to see him fight a top level opponent in his next ring appearance.

Thoughts?

• Miller tested positive for the banned substance methylhexaneamineafter in 2014, earning himself a nine-month suspension from the California State Athletic Commission, plus a $2,500 fine.

• Miller also missed-out on a $5m payday to face Anthony Joshua in 2019, due to multiple failed tests for performance enhancing drugs (i.e. GW501516, EPO, HGH etc.).

• Miller was then dropped by Top Rank during June 2020, when he failed a pre-fight drug test for GW501516, which earned a 24-month suspension from the NSAC.

Apparently, the earliest he's allowed to return to the ring is January 2022, by which time the “Big Baby” would have only engaged in one very brief mismatch outing during a forty-month period.

Kevin Cunningham says he’s “always believed in second chances”, but this will be Miller’s fourth! :o

I can’t imagine any of the major networks, promoters or world-rated fighters being willing to work with Jarrell Miller! :o

I can easily imagine promoters working with Miller.

Boxing is one area where crime definitely pays off, just like government and banking.

What Miller's done is very small potatoes compared to the destruction of life as we know it.

All in pursuit of an unquenchable thirst for even more money.

At least Jarrell isn't insisting that people get jabbed with an experimental vaccine for nothing

Whatever jabs he was getting all had the same end goal - more money.

Big Businessman Miller indeed!

Yeah, he's a great businessman. He should write a book, "How To Turn $5,000,000 Into A One Year Suspension."

Anyone else missed him?

He was another player in the HW division, and the HW division needs more players indeed..

Not sure anyone will touch him. He might end up with a Luis Ortiz type career. Get to 40 with an unbeaten record and no top wins and get a title shot off claiming he's been avoided and only the diehards will know the truth. I don't expect any top promoter wanting to work with him, however, I'd like to see Wilder take him out...

The interesting thing about him was how big he was and his workrate, which he achieved through cheating

I think that the unknown of a 'clean' Miller is what makes him compelling. At the very least to see his level without help.

He had his fans.
They liked his all action style.
Can he be clean and still all action?

Nope - didn’t miss him at all. There was zero doubt about his guilt and he wasn’t anything special.

My worry here is Triller. I think they’ll be all over him unfortunately as he has some notoriety now.

Oh, you probably have a point, it's right up their alley
Miller was a boarder line novelty in so far as a turbo charged big bloke.

I'd imagine that now he can't get away with taking HGH anymore, he might now be the size and weight of an actual human being rather than a Brachiosaurus.

I thought he was a massive threat to the unbeaten Joshua due to his incredible workrate and apparent impervious armour. I feel rather stupid now that it never once occurred to me how these near superhuman qualities might have been attained, but I think I'm in good company there.

I have missed him. He was (albeit dishonestly) a world-class heavyweight and you can't have too many of those in my opinion. I'm not convinced that his punishment was adequate but he has lost a fortune and been in exile for three years so I'm happy to see him back.

In truth I'm quite fascinated to discover how much of a fighter he is going to be without his pharmaceutical enhancements.

What candyslim said.

Favoured him heavily over joshua but the fvckin thickness of that guy :witzend:

imagine where he could be had he done the job ruiz did replacing him.

If he again can't keep his hands off the juice... whatever, then he gets banned for life anyways.

I don't think with proper training/conditioning he'd be a less capable fighter as 'on the juice' but given the amount of different shit he considered necessary taking, who knows.
