ya might work for other matchups, but dont think coasting the last 4 is the way for aj vs usyk
Re: AJ Scouting Out New Trainers?
Aj will NEVER outbox him , but he could well outbrawl him , if he imposes his size and his will , , but will he , doubt it to do so he's going to have to train the old fashioned way , get rid of the hanger ons , get rid of his strenth and muscle coach , get rid of the massive muscles , , just work on speed and stamina and endurance ,, and for this he does'nt have the time , and even if he had the time he does'nt have the right team ...margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2021, 13:10 ya might work for other matchups, but dont think coasting the last 4 is the way for aj vs usyk![]()
Funny enough , for all the shite that comes out of Furys mouth ,, Tyson training him to beat Usyk is probably the most sensible thing he's said ,, Tyson knows and understands whats needed , and it is'nt weights and muscles . , Which sort of suggests AJ has'nt been right for a while , he really does seem to concentrate on his body looking good has oppossed to being good for boxing

Hasn’t AJ already left the weights and muscles road behind ? He’s a full stone lighter now than when he fought Takam and when you account for the natural weight gain as a man gets older then his weight suggests he is concentrating solely on ring fitness rather than bulk.coneye wrote: ↑25 Oct 2021, 19:34Aj will NEVER outbox him , but he could well outbrawl him , if he imposes his size and his will , , but will he , doubt it to do so he's going to have to train the old fashioned way , get rid of the hanger ons , get rid of his strenth and muscle coach , get rid of the massive muscles , , just work on speed and stamina and endurance ,, and for this he does'nt have the time , and even if he had the time he does'nt have the right team ...margaret thatcher wrote: ↑25 Oct 2021, 13:10 ya might work for other matchups, but dont think coasting the last 4 is the way for aj vs usyk![]()

Admittedly ring fitness wasn’t much in evidence against Usyk. Every man has his limitations and there’s a finite point he can get to fitness wise due to individual genetic make up. Maybe AJ at 32 has reached that point and just can’t get his stamina to the required level

Re: AJ Scouting Out New Trainers?
im not a physiologist , but aj seems to clearly be the fast twitch type, with a body that produces explosive powerful bursts, but cannot sustain a constantly high energy level
id think even if he came further down in weight, focused on cardio etc, he'll never be a super fit still energetic in round 12 type like usyk. weve now seen several times in his career that he gasses at various points in the fight. sometimes he's gotten a second wind, but not vs usyk
when he focuses too much on his stamina and not gassing, he gives away a lot of his strengths (he's got all star offense when he lets his hands go) and plays into usyk's hand. the problem is that he cant just go gung ho either, he doesnt have the tank for it. its a fine balance

Re: AJ Scouting Out New Trainers?
His stamina problems will persist even after losing weight, (as they have done) because they are as much related (IMO) to his stiffness and inability to relax in the ring, as they are to his muscle composition or level of musculature. He can't relax so he wastes energy tensing and re-tensing at every feint thrown at him, i wouldn't be surprised if even those pawing lefts he waved around depleted his stamina somewhat (spending a while with his arm somewhat outstretched = tensing his delts).
Re: AJ Scouting Out New Trainers?
It's got nothing to do with "fitness" or cardio etc. The same with Audley and David Price.
Tyson Fury looks like he couldn't run for a bus but in reality he could box all day long.
I can't belive they don't use a sports psychologist and use visualisation techniques etc.
Although if they are using the same team GB ones as Audley and Price he should find somebody else - cost isn't an issue so he could use the top people who work with NFL and NBA players
