"BOXING.
There was a very large attendance at the Maitland Stadium on Saturday evening, when Mr W J HOWE advanced his 50 pound tourneys another stage. The attendances at the Stadium are an evidence that the sporting public appreciates, and will continue to support, boxing carried out on clean lines. Among those present were visitors from the Newcastle district, and from the Maitland coalfields... In the feather-weight class, RECKENBURG (sic), of Abermain (8st 6lb), and E FINN, of East Maitland (8st), did not stay long together. The Abermain lad was too long in the reach, and dealt it out so effectively that the towel came from FINN's corner... Mr W HANNAN was referee for the evening."
