On a positive note for AJ, if he beats Usyk in the rematch he will become a 3 time heavyweight champ. Not an easy feat by any means.

He will lose to Usyk. Then Wilder and if he is unlucky and still gets a shot at Fury he loses that badly.
I'd pick Joe joyce over him also

He'll lose to Usyk probably, would probably KO a 37-38 year old Wilder though. DW hasnt won a fight in 2 years, presumably they'll want to bring dw back for easier wins in 2022, and josh probably would want a win again too before that happened

Joyce-AJ would be an interesting fight, rematch of AJ's 1st round stoppage of Joyce in the ams

Right attitude though.
Pretty much everyone on here was saying he just needs to go at it.

tbh, you gotta respect him more, he couldve decided to be done with losing before, but instead granted lifechanging victories to usyk and ruiz, tremendous character and humility

AJ took very little responsibility for his own loss in that video.

For example (verbatim quote that followed a consistent theme):

“What the team should have got through to me…”

He also suggested he didn’t know he was losing the fight until the eye injury.

He also refused to answer certain very simple questions, advising Kugan to speak to his team.

I was shocked to discover AJ’s plans to add to his already gigantic entourage!

As the old adage goes : “too many chefs spoil the broth!”

Don’t get me wrong, AJ was mostly saying the right things… telling us everything we wanted to hear.

But then I was surprised about some of his responses.

I really don’t fancy his chances in the Usyk rematch if Joshua was being 100% sincere during his iFL TV interview.

Is it me or is he just contradicting himself?

'I'm done with trying to learn the sweet science'.

'I'm heading into my 12th world title fight now and the learning is done'.

' I need a new coach to learn from as well'.

' I need to step away and get some new teachings from trainers who have trained the likes of 13 or 14 world champions'.

"I wish I had done these things sooner, but now I can go out there and add things to my game."

To be honest, I think Joshua's in denial, about the reasons for his losses.

He doesn't seem to be able to encompass the fact, that maybe he's just not as good as he thought he was.

No matter who trains him now, there's only so much they can do to change how he fights, most of it is ingrained now, and I doubt very much he will be able to improve too much on his previous performance.

He will probably try the rough stuff with Usyk, but Usyk is too good to to allow himself to get beaten up, he will get on his bike, potshot Joshua, and wear him out, then as he tires, he will up the workrate.

Joshua has found his level, and it's not as high as he thought it was.

At least he acknowledged he lost. Duran said something very similar after his first loss (DeJesus) and it served him well for a few years.

Didn't know he ko'd him in the amateurs until now. A nice little bit of history. Won't have much relevance to a current day fight I suppose. But that Josh has the natural speed and power advantage in a big way.

Sounds about right. Josh is very good, still ranked top 3 in the world at the moment, but still falling short.
There was always criticism that he was a bit cluncky and overly muscled, a wee bit stiff. That plus after the Ruiz loss, he may have sharpened up some boxing skills, but he seems to have lost some confidence / become more aware of his ability to get hurt.

Usyk was superb and the better man.
AJ did seem to hurt Usyk, even with the few moderate blows he landed, and Usyk's face was all busted up. So he has the power to do the damage of course.
A different mindset. Coming in with combos behind the jab. Physical advantages.

Usyk will be favourite this time, but AJ has enough talent and power to make it fun.

i had no idea until recently too, saw joyce talking about it in a video, he said he got 3 quick standing counts in the first and the ref stopped it. he thought it was premature. no video that i know of though so cant say whether that's true
