Unified Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) will finally make his maiden title defense of his WBA, IBF, WBO, and The Ring belts against George Kambosos Jr (19-0, 10 KOs) at Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden, New York, on Saturday, November 27 – live worldwide and exclusively on DAZN.

Lopez’s first fight since upsetting former champion Vasiliy Lomachenko in October 2020, the Brooklyn native beat the Ukrainian by unanimous decision, taking with him the prized straps and unified crown. Australian Kambosos Jr. comes into the fight as the mandatory IBF challenger, also boasting a perfect record and coming off the back of a split decision win against former IBF Featherweight Champion Lee Selby.

He gets better every fight. This is one or two fights too soon IMO. But you don't turn down a championship. Maybe the rust will affect Lopez more.

kambo is solid , i consider him a respectable lower top 10 in the division guy. teo is a lot more than that though - an elite, p4p boxer-puncher

That's the thing isn't it? I don't know much about Kambosos but as I see, it he's going in with the guy who beat Loma so he had better be good if we are expecting this to be competitive.

It does look to me like Kambosos does certain things better than Teo. Regarding Loma it is my theory that Loma was an old half injured blown up junior lightweight and that styles do make fights. If this theory is correct then not beating Lomachenko more impressively can be considered a sign of weakness.

Swarmed him, it's his only hope. George doesn't have the skills to use his height and reach on the outside against Loma. He would tough it out, throw as much leather as possible and hope to wear down Loma.
