That's how I feel about women's boxing. How's it any worse than the shit women's fights Hearn and Sky are serving up every week?

A bunch of novices and 37 year dinner ladies and we're supposed to bow down in awe at their totally inflated abilities. Talk of world titles that are as meaningful as an IBO intercontinental trinket in fact much less. Most fights going off at 1/25 to 1/100.

At least this is 2 evenly matched men going at it.
The difference for me is that this low level fight will be PpV in the US/U.K. at something like $50/£20. It’s insulting to boxing fans.

Showtime have 3 PPVs across 7 weeks. BT will have 3 PPVs across 10 weeks. It’s all simply greed. How can a BT customer be happy with the boxing they’ve had this year when seemingly their focus is simply on PPV?

I don’t love women’s boxing but I’m absolutely fine with an evenly matched women’s fight.
I agree it's poor what BT are at with all these PPVs, to me it looks like an exit strategy before they sell up BT Sport, probably to DAZN if it's still happening.

Barring Fury Wilder the number of buys for the other PPVs is likely very small. PPV at 5am does not work in UK. Unless it's a massive name like Fury, Joshua. Ricky Hatton years ago etc

If they want to extort fans with PPV give us the dignity of putting it on at a reasonable hour!
Most of the revenue will be coming from the US anyway. anything they make in the UK market they’ll consider a bonus.

True, they're probably hoping for a few quid with Tommy's name in UK.

It could do a bit better in UK if the undercard was good. I think it will outsell Canelo Plant in UK anyway.

My issue is Hearn, other promoters and Sky have lowered the bar so much with women's boxing (many mid 30s or novices) on every show now, and mismatch mens fights, that it was inevitable the Jake Pauls, Tommy Fury's and others of that ilk can move in and it's no worse than what's out there now every week.

TBH Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury will show better quality boxing than most women's world title fights

Yeah, women's world title fights in pros are really not even comparable even though they try sell them at equal. In many divisions there is barely 10 fighters, most of the women are mid 30s and many don't start boxing until they are much older. Very few stoppages either.

Don't like repeating myself but we're fed so much of it now on top of men's mismatches it needs calling out.

Well hopefully the standard gets better. If the schools were good then maybe the quality will improve. Cos at the moment women’s boxing is dreadful.

To be fair most male journeymen will have jobs outside of the boxing; driving taxi`s was/is quite popular and flexible way to earn money a few quid .. Lauren Price drove taxi`s before she was National Lottery salaried.

I guess the dinner lady reference is down to that one ex-woman world champ who looks like the stereotype of one.

Well people only have themselves to blame , when they buy ppv's that are rubbish and a pisstake , or go to a boxing show thats got 80-20 fights alninght long ,,, well you only encourage it ,, these people , Hearn , ect are in a buisness they have profits to make , and the cheaper the rubbish they put on the less it costs the more they make simple , so vote with your feet , DON'T BUY THEM and DON'T GO TO THEM ,, unless there worthy of your hard earned dollar .

STUFF EM i will not buy any boxing show , unless its that good a fight i don't want to miss it if the stream goes bad ,,,,

80-20 fights all night? Would love to go to a show with those odds most fights on a boxing bill are 95-5 fights lol :D

I mean I love boxing but so many undercard fights are priced at 100/1 on for the favourite……

Yeah - will be similar to the Cunningham fight. Tyson won’t give him the necessary respect early doors and will go down hard. I actually think he goes down a couple of times but then mauls his way to a victory.

Yeah Hasbulla is a bit of a hothead. He has been known to lose control. I think this makes him dangerous though. Unpredictable.

Jake Paul to fight fellow undefeated boxer Tommy Fury on Dec. 18 in Tampa

One of the knocks on Jake Paul has been that he has not fought a "real boxer." That criticism will be mostly addressed at the end of this year.

Paul, the YouTube-star-turned-prizefighter, will fight fellow undefeated boxer Tommy Fury on Dec. 18 in Tampa, Florida, it was officially announced Friday. The bout will be contested at 192 pounds and is contracted for eight, three-minute rounds.

Fury, 22, is the half-brother of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson and is 7-0 in pro boxing.

Paul, 24, rose to fame on the back of online content creation and has parlayed it into the fight game, where he holds a 4-0 record as a pro boxer. He's one of the world's most popular social media influencers. Fury, meanwhile, is a celebrity in the UK due to his appearance on the reality show "Love Island."

Last month, Tyson Fury joked in an interview with Boxing Social that if Tommy lost to Paul he should change his name. Paul then proposed a wager: If Paul beats Tommy Fury, then Tommy will have to change his name temporarily from "Tommy Fury" to "Tommy Fumbles." If Tommy wins, Paul will give him an extra $500,000 of Paul's fight purse.

On Friday, Paul told ESPN that Tommy Fury agreed to the name-change wager rather than a straight-up money bet.

"I offered Fury to change his name to Tommy Fumbles or put up $500,000 of his purse if he loses," Paul said. "He chose to agree to change his name. Guess he puts more value on money then he does his own family name. Maybe he knows his family is disowning him once he loses, so money and [Tommy's girlfriend and UK TV personality] Molly [Mae-Hague] is all he's going to have left."

Amanda Serrano, ESPN's No. 3-ranked female boxer in the world, will compete in the co-main event on the Paul vs. Fury card, sources said. Her opponent has not been set. Serrano, who is promoted by Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, sports a 41-1-1 record with 30 knockouts.

Paul is coming off a split decision win over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on Aug. 29 in Cleveland. This will be Paul's third fight this year. He knocked out Ben Askren, a former Bellator and ONE champion and UFC veteran, in the first round back in April. Paul also owns knockout wins over NBA veteran Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib.

Fury fought on the Paul vs. Woodley undercard, defeating Paul sparring partner Anthony Taylor by unanimous decision. He has stopped four of seven opponents by knockout. This will be Fury's first fight going past four rounds.

Paul vs. Fury will be promoted by Paul's Most Valuable Promotions with Showtime Sports and in association with Tony Holden Productions.

LOL I will concede I had to look him up , also admit , i sort of find it funny , got 3 sons , all boxed and kick boxed ,, reminds me of them when they were growing up , They were always at it , seemed every day , anything could set them off , it was usualy the youngest who started it ,, he'd back chat the eldest who would give him a clip , the middle one would take umridge to that , and help the youngest , who would then turn on the middle one for having a go with the eldest ,,,, . It was a nightmare ,, I used to ignore them tell them to get out side and fight ,,, the wife used to wallop the 3 of them
