Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
"On paper" this looks a step up/reasonable test for a guy who just fought Mark Bennett.
In reality, I have a feeling that Molina will seek the canvas as soon as he can. I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect the fighter who got off the floor multiple times against Wilder is long gone.

no doubt the most experienced opponent for cabby, who at his peak defo had more tools than his past opponents. but molina is becoming a guy that when things get a bit tough he is looking to the canvas. ppl talk about those shots vs wardley, but dude was up and cheery pretty much as soon as counted. hardly any ambition
i think cab will do his usual swarm, and molina will quickly be complaining about shots behind the head, falling to the canvas and complaining etc. would love to see him come up for it though and prepared to have a tough fight
still though, molina does offer at least 'if he comes up for it' interest....if he does, could be interesting, but i suspect he flops
Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
It's an attraction not a decent match up, Babic will knock him over early and the hype train rolls on till he fights someone who won't go down and punches back

babby's fans should call themselves the cabbage patch kids and show up with cabbage hats, or bald caps

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Does this whyte situation mean babic vs molina is headlining... grim if true.
Its a shame, the undercard just got decent enough for me to be kinda keen for a big boxing watching session. now its an undercard building up to no main event. In the spirit of remaining a giant undercard with no main event this card needs dave allen and Big truck price just for that curiosity/name value. dont care if there fighting a hairdresser, get the lads in.

ya tough to see where this card goes from here
if whyte pulled out to save himself for fury, like most people think and which always seemed a possibility for a while now, youd think theyd have a plan b for how to make it work if they didnt plan to cancel the show. opponents in waiting etc

Yes. Mark Bennett. Molina would break his hands on Bennett's head and get pulled out by his corner.maverick23 wrote: ↑19 Oct 2021, 09:27Do you think any of Babic’s opponents beat the Molina who fought Wardley?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Oct 2021, 09:09Based on Molina's recent performances - I doubt it..
Name wise.. yes.
Also who would win? Prime Butterbean vs Babic

total flopper, if it wasnt clear enough what molina's game is, it should be now
that's the difference between on paper and in the ring

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Molina is a punching bag. Again he was trying to complain about rabbit punches after he had bent his head low. The Cabbage Pubic had tougher opponents in the bar where Eddeh had found him.

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Hope not.
When Molina let his hands go a little it was shaping up to be a good one as Babic has no defence really. Then Molina starts complaining about rabbit punches as he seems to do every fight now and flops when under pressure.
I liked how Kali Reiss and Andy Lee properly called him out on it.
Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Babic vs Hrgovic, let's get it on. Interestingly, when Pubic called Hrgovic out for the first time, Hrgovic looked like a contender with a better resume, but he wasted time since then and now Pubic catched his countryman up. It'll be a fun fight, Eddeh must make it.
Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
I think some of the comments I've read online were a tad harsh. I think Molona gave it a decent go and either his punch resistance is zero or he knew he just didnt fancy taking those shots much more....but I've seen the words "disgraceful" banded about, which I think is a tad harsh. Julius Francis used to do this everytime he stepped up, when he felt the heat he would go down easy, but I didnt hear him being called a disgrace

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
i dont think its his punch resistance. He panics/getslost/cant stay composed when swarmed. its happened to him like 5 or 6 fights, just just ducks his head, holds his arms up in a cross, and stumbles around. its almost like he shuts his eyes underfire.stujones wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 05:17 I think some of the comments I've read online were a tad harsh. I agree, molina had a go at least. If he wanted a way out he could of stayed down from that first shot, it was a beauty. But he fires back with what he has, as i said just very very very bad when being pressed.

he's a flopper and he did want a way out , i cant believe some people still dont see it
it went exactly as many of us predicted and babic got 0 test, whatever it said on paper

I agree, but I just think the term disgraceful is a tad harsh. I remember Julius Francis going down very easily when the goung got tough (and not just vs Tyson) but some journos used to label him as "sensible " and say things like "why take a sustained beating when you realised you were 2nd best". Just pointing out the double standards.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 05:26 he's a flopper and he did want a way out , i cant believe some people still dont see it

someone who has shown durability vs good opposition, isnt a known weak heart flopper with no ambition in years, and can put some offense together at least somewhat
perhaps jack mulowayi, ali eren demirezin, sergey kuzmin. rudenko is smaller and older than these guys, but at least a tough guy who has never been stopped vs good opposition

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
depends if it's the same people calling molina a flopper and francis 'sensible'. i am calling molina a flopper and fully stand by that, but havent rendered an opinion on francis, so it's not really a double standardstujones wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 05:33I agree, but I just think the term disgraceful is a tad harsh. Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
I would like to know the reason why the Browne fight was pulled. I was far from a fan of the match up but at the same time I dont like to see someone lose an agreed pay day....so I say Lucas Browne in December and in 2222 a significant step up. Someone the correct side of 30 with some meaningful wins
Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Rudenko isn't a good option. He's pretty tough, but he survives and doesn't fight back much.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 05:37 someone who has shown durability vs good opposition, isnt a known weak heart flopper with no ambition in years, and can put some offense together at least somewhat

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
babic is nonstop offense, if rudenko is still there past halfway-and so far no one has stopped him - he might have to adjust his game and box like he hasnt before
far more useful than just bombing out molinas early who go down as soon as some leather really flys. but id rather see the others as they have more offensively

Re: Alen Babic v Eric Molina
Better than bombing out Molinas, but not a proper option really. Babic vs Hrgovic should be made. Hrgovic wasted a lot of time and has nothing to lose. Both are with Eddeh. It can sell.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021, 05:41 babic is nonstop offense, if rudenko is still there past halfway-and so far no one has stopped him - he might have to adjust his game and box like he hasnt before
