Hello there -- I hope this is the right place to ask this question. Apologies, and please redirect me if not.
I'm researching a person I believe may be the fighter listed as Kid Friday in the database here:
https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/493370
I see on his page that there are some newspaper citations that I intend to research. I wondered, however: Does anyone else have an interest in or knowledge of this person?
Or is anyone reading this perhaps someone who already researched some of the fights on his page and would have the details handy?
Thanks for any help or ideas. I'd be particularly curious if anyone might have information about how to research amateur fighting in Florida in the first couple of decades of the 20th Century.

Ok, I'll bite. Why the interest?
Re: Researching "Kid Friday" (ID# 493370)
That's a reasonable question!
The short answer is that I'm researching a man born in Europe in the early 20th century. (He's interesting to me for non-boxing reasons.) It's possible that this Kid Friday is his father.

It would be interesting to me to know more about the father's story as he progressed toward meeting the mother of his future child. If he were this particular boxer -- which, based on some articles I've seen, might not be the case, but I can't yet be sure, even though I have reason to believe the father was a boxer around this time who may have used a name like this -- that would be a meaningful detail as far as I'm concerned. If this doesn't interest you, fair enough!

It doesn't, but I was interested to hear the back story.579533 wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021, 18:37 It would be interesting to me to know more about the father's story as he progressed toward meeting the mother of his future child.
