Difficult to gauge how good Jones really was considering he was popped for PED's. It is pretty crazy how a man who fought as low as 145 pounds ended up being a top cruiserweight and occasionally fought heavyweights.

Which is only a prime example of why bridgerweight is a dumb idea, since people don't want to take into account just what is possible if you work hard enough.

That being said... he certainly had the skills to go the distance with Cunningham, Nelson two bouts he was robbed in and beat Braithwaite and Lebedev. He was also pretty tall and rangy (6'4").

But Coetzee could deal with quick and rangy types too. Dokes was fast. Snipes was quick and strong. Thomas was very good. Tillis was fast. He was a good boxer technically and he hit hard too.

I don't know if Coetzee would knock him out, but I tend to think that he would win a decision over Jones on the basis of him doing very well against men who were faster than him.

Coetzee would bang Jones' face by out-jabbing him and putting him away with a "Bionic" right hand for KO win in 8 rounds.
