Yep. There are so much worse that you have to kinda like Paulie. And at least he has boxed at the top level, heck, at least he has boxed for a start

Re: Boxxer Series 1.0: Super-Lightweights - 6 November 2021
He did an interview a week or so back saying it was Frank Smith at Matchroom that caused him to lose his job at Sky.
They were doing a public training session for a show and a fan was giving Paulie stick so Paulie spat at him. Frank clearly wasn’t happy so gave the guy a couple of free tickets which Paulie wasn’t happy with. He thinks Frank then got him fired from his role with Sky.
Regardless of what happened with Sky spitting at someone is one of the lowest things you can do to someone I think.

Paulie has been getting unnecessary stick for a very long time. Then he makes a bad decision.maverick23 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2021, 04:48He did an interview a week or so back saying it was Frank Smith at Matchroom that caused him to lose his job at Sky.

I remember after the Usyk-Bellew open workout.
At the end most of people had left and he was still there taking.
Some fans started giving him shit and calling him over and making out like they wanted a pic.
Paulie gets no respect at all.
Spitting is the worst thing though.

Guys who is this lad "Savage Dan", seems out of his depth doing the hosting. Seems like another Youtuber bluffer put on Sky to get young viewers. Like Viddal Riley.

For £100,000 you know these guys have done the hard yards in the gym and will be giving it everything.
That's house deposit money.

Fair play 100k is a decent price for the winner. Hopefully it goes well I do think this model can work for them again.
It certainly tops BTs Birmingham card which is another sorry bunch of complete mismatches.

Re: Boxxer Series 1.0: Super-Lightweights - 6 November 2021
going Lee Appleyard
Re: Boxxer Series 1.0: Super-Lightweights - 6 November 2021
Same!
I just have a feeling his experience will see him through..
No way am I betting on him though
Tough to choose though, you dangle a hundred grand and who knows what will happen. We are probably going to get some career standout performances

Malignaggi is an excellent pundit and I've some interactions with him on Twitter over the years, he comes across sound but you can't be spitting on people's and the whole Conor McGregor situation left him looking pathetic

Does anyone else think the bookies have priced this up wrong?
I expected Appleyard, Dodd and Farrell to be abit shorter and they are all underdogs in the opening fights.
Am I sleeping on the others? I know fields has been in with some decent fighters but the others records don’t look up to much to me. No disrespect to them. Just looking at it from a money making point of view.

That's HOUSE money where I'm from
Is that confirmed? Thought I heard somewhere it was £50,000.
Very impressive if so.
Rooting for Masher Dodd, but not very hopeful.

Re: Boxxer Series 1.0: Super-Lightweights - 6 November 2021
It was on the press release £100k.
and yeh, it is house money.
My house is actually worth just a little more than that. It would certainly pay off my mortgage and i'd have a few £10k's spare.
Re: Boxxer Series 1.0: Super-Lightweights - 6 November 2021
Went back and read the press release, thought they might have worded it cleverly and it was £100,000 spread across the quarters, semis and final.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Nov 2021, 09:39It was on the press release £100k.

Seems it is £100,000 for the winner though, that's great dough for 1 night and 9 rounds.
Hope they keep it up, should attract some decent names going forward.

Fields is active, been in with better opposition. Probably why he's short odds. Activity is a big one here imo

Remember guys, that 100K gets sliced up a bit, tax, gym, trainer, manager, accommodation etc.Webbo911 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2021, 11:49Went back and read the press release, thought they might have worded it cleverly and it was £100,000 spread across the quarters, semis and final.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Nov 2021, 09:39It was on the press release £100k.

It's life changing for the canny winner still, and I'm expecting it to be a massive motivator, bringing out career best performances
Re: Boxxer Series 1.0: Super-Lightweights - 6 November 2021
It would have been so nice, as well as the money, to guarantee the eventual winner a shot at Dalton Smith for the British.
