Another win for Heaney, good body shot to finish it but not a brilliant performance against an opponent that was ungainly and wild.
Took a few shots from some wild swings from Janjanin, he’s still a work in progress but at 32, the clock’s ticking.
Wins the vacant IBO international title, whatever the hell that is…

Just caught up on the show.

It was as expected - really poor.

The Garner fight was the only one that was competitive and I think that’s more Garner seemingly having deteriorated over the last few years.

Ethan James fought a journeyman who was much smaller than him and won a wide decision.

Denzel Bentley fights a career welterweight who hadn’t fought in 3 1/2 years. No surprise he looks good and stops him.

Parker looked good against Morrison but Morrison spent most of his career at light-middle, had losses at a fairly low level and only has one credible win with a come from behind stoppage over an aged Blandamura. Parker just bullied him.

I like that Queensbury have kept Parker active but they need to do more to prepare him for a world title fight. Frank used to be good at this but he’s lost the plot a little in recent years with getting a prospect/fighter ready for a big fight.

Heaney/Janinin was really poor. I’m not overly surprised given the tickets Heaney sells so it’s unlikely they’ll put him in with anyone with a pulse for a while.

On Prizefighter we had 7 competitive fights with guys who were well matched. On this one we had one semi competitive fight (the Garner) and another load of mismatches.

I guess FW will want to put Heaney on at Stoke next summer for a IBO or something 'World' Title as I can't see him getting near a live opponent rather than a chucking out brawler like last night. Have to protect the big ticket sales

It'll be interesting to see Parker against someone decent, like BJS, Plant, Ryder, Dirrell or Lemieux.

Yh he really does need to step it up before a world title fight.

WBO are a joke. Give these guys a high ranking just because they win the WBO Euro belt against a Croatian taxi driver.

loook what happened to Yarde.

Bit of a demolition job by Parker that, Morrison down 3 times before getting stopped, all right hands to the body, it was actually a left downstairs that initially hurt Morrison for the first KD before the right dropped him, after that he was pretty much in survival mode, Parker landing hard punches, the refs intervention looked a bit premature tbh, not much was landing clean when he jumped in, still no complaints, Parker was dishing out some punishment

Parker impresses again. I'm not usually a big fan of boxers who switch between stances, but Zach can do it effortlessly and is very effective at it.

If you give Parker a gap to your body he will find it. Very impressive punch picking to the body :box:

I rate Parker, but his management should now get much more serious about his opposition to make sure he's a bonafide contender, not just a WBO shake of the magic wand contender :shame:

Did I hear Parker say in the post fight interview that he's already been the WBO number 1 contender for 2 years?? :oo

He shouldn't be number 1 yet, let alone already for 2 years

Nothing to get you ready for a undisputed fight with Saul Canelo than stopping Morrison.
It’s a good win but Zach really should be calling out Dirrell.

That fight finishing uppercut from (Anthony) Dirrell show he's very much NOT retired :box: and I agree with Dioufy, Anthony Dirrell would be a good step up :TU:

He’d be a perfect step up but Parker’s not going on a PBC card for it and there’s no way Frank’s bringing him over.

If Canelo vacates then after Parker it’s Jacobs and Lemieux. I can’t see Jacobs fighting Parker but Lemieux may see it as comparatively easy world title fight and I think it’s a winnable fight for Parker. They’re not going to offer him Billy Joe money and won’t come to the U.K. for it so who knows what will happen.

If any of you guys missed the fight, like me, here is a nice highlight package. Definitely one to keep your eye on.

How would Parker do against the following: Lennox Clarke, Lerrone Richards, John Ryder, Jack Cullen

I must admit not checked out Parker much, last night was a total mismatch it seemed.

Very good feet, closes the distance nicely. Defence a little porous still.

Winning a EBU title would go some way to justifying the ridiculous number 1 ranking with the WBO.

I suppose it would be considered bad management if they risked Parker in a 50/50 as he's already the WBO's top contender. The fault lies squarely with the WBO for this scenario :brick:

IMO Parker's had only one 50/50 fight his whole career when he challenged for the British title and that ended up in a split decision win. He then promptly dumped the British title.

As I say, I rate him highly but for all his confident talk his career speaks of someone who won't take risks or earn his place in the sport

Not the first W@rren boxer we could say that about

Doing what they’ve done with Parker may actually get him a world title but will he be ready to defend it against credible opposition? Who knows.

The 3 guys he’s fought on BT don’t have a credible win between them and I’d be surprised if any of them came in with any expectation of winning.

The WBO backed themselves into a corner with this. They can wait for Canelo to defend his belt and get a good sanctioning fee or they can order him to face Parker, get the belt vacated and then see other fighters opt against fighting him due to the likely purse split.

Parker has got a touch of the Froch's about him.

Probably more talented but whether he has that cast iron chin and steely resolve, time will tell.

The point is, don't waste a genuine talent with fake WBO shite fights.
