Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
After watching his escapades in various divine I was thinking who is the biggest guy Canelo could beat ?
Surely he could beat some of the questionable heavyweights active atm ?
Harks back to fairground challenge fights
So what the biggest biggest name he could put on his resume ?
You lot will deffo have opinions on this for sure

I still think canelo vs babic would be a cracker. And I don’t know who would win.

He'd beat Babic very easily IMO.gregregegg wrote: ↑07 Nov 2021, 20:46 I still think canelo vs babic would be a cracker. And I don’t know who would win.

He'd beat Ruiz.
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
No one can up to 168. At the LHW Bivol and Bert can. Those are inriguing bouts.
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
I guess he might be able to beat like a #10-ranked cruiserweight or a #50-ranked heavyweight.
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
Seriously? So if timed right Canelo could be heavyweight champ !?!

back in glorious 'full on retard' mode. that's our boy how we all love him!
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
Like if Canelo were to pull a Roy Jones Jr. and fight some relevant HW? I think he'd probably match up well with Parker. If I were his promoter and was looking at a relevant HW, I would probably pick him or Huey Fury.

Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
If he was to continue boxing 175 is the only place he can go. This talk of cruiserweight and heavyweight is insane though. If he did such a thing he would give up a lot of his speed, and basically become a sitting duck.
Maybe if cruiserweight was 190 again like when Roy Jones jumped to heavyweight (193) but to be 200+ is too much of a stretch. He'd get eaten alive by Joey Dawejko or something.
No, Canelo should just pursue 175 and go no farther than that. He's already did it once, so he can do it again.

Now, in his weight class and below, practically nobody, maybe Charlo, Munguia or Andrade has a small chance. In LHW there are a few like Beterbiev, Bivol and Buatsi. In SMW, in 2 years, maybe David Morrell, Aslambek Idigov, Pavel Silyagin if they keep winning good opponents, a bit far Christian M'billi or Kevin Lele Sadjo if equally both keep winning good to top opponents. In MW there are no visible opponents, maybe (in 2 years) Felix Cash or Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.

I can barely even read your writing, dude. And this is a hypothetical you moron!adislav123 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 18:39:doh in all friendliness! what's wrong wot u?: you crazy dude!

Ward.
Andre Ward is the best fighter that Canelo could add to his resume rn. This is the best possible fight that is remotely logical.
P.S. even though he is nearly five years out of the ring, I favour Ward.

well in that case, if we're just picking the biggest name that we think would beat him, then fury
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
Dude, no way does Canelo survive CW. Briedis would hug him to death. Significantly bigger and stronger, and he will use his size, unlike let's say Mchunu. Briedis would be all wrong for Canelo.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 21:50 well in that case, if we're just picking the biggest name that we think would beat him, then fury

I think thats about right, He Should of fought Char 2020 when he had the Reg belt. recon he would of been a redhot chance there.. Very rare you can have a "world champ" that is probably not even top 50....
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
Canelo would be a CW champion, if he fought instead of Briedis and Okolie their latest challengers.
Re: Who can Canelo beat ... ? Opinions needed
It might have been a good opportunity. Well, now there's Trevor Bryan.gregregegg wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 22:11I think thats about right, He Should of fought Char 2020 when he had the Reg belt. recon he would of been a redhot chance there.. Whatever weight Canelo fights at, Light-heavy or even Cruiser, I would urge him not to bulk up. His main weapon against a bigger man other than technique, is his speed. It would be foolish to trade speed for strength especially when the opponent is likely to remain the stronger man regardless.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑08 Nov 2021, 20:33 If he was to continue boxing 175 is the only place he can go. He could probably beat a heavyweight but he'd need to choose carefully. I'd suggest someone slow of hand, foot and preferably thought. Someone who trades on toughness, durability, and stamina (they have to have a few things going for them or they are not going to be good enough to make beating them worthwhile) I might suggest he start with a Chazz Witherspoon and see how he fares with him.

Illunga Makabu = WBC world cruiserweight (190lbs) champion?
Am I being ridiculous? Makabu is short and small for a cruiserweight?
He’s also very beatable in my mind.
Not a great boxer and isn’t excessively heavy-handed.
