Murder??? Surely this can't be right? Facing LIFE for having a fight??
You have a fight, and throw a punch.Unfortunately,a man dies.Surely this is the definition of manslaughter??
I understand he was a pro boxer, and knew what he was doing, and I don't have any idea what happened, but this seem's too strong.
I have a mate who was a pro boxer,he had a fight about 6-7 years ago, punched a guy, knocked him out.The guy landed on a kerb and unfortunately died.My mate got 7 years manslaughter.I thought that was fair, even if a little unlucky.
Of course it's a tragedy, but this incident has now claimed 2 lives.
Shame Delany is'nt an immigrant without a driving license, who had mowed down and killed a 8 yr old boy, then left the scene,he would have only been looking at about 10 months inside...

No. The difference between murder and involuntary manslaughter is effectively intention ('malice aforethought'). The court found that Delaney (at the least) intended to cause grievous bodily harm (aka really serious harm) to the victim with his act.yiddo14 wrote:Murder??? Surely this can't be right? This 'malice aforethought' cannot be established in cases of involuntary manslaughter. However, in Delaney's case it was proved beyond reasonable doubt.
A couple of years back, this twat punched a lad in our hometown. The lad was minding his own biz, when twat bravely attacked from behind and killed him. He got 3 years, fornicate daddy was a mason 18 months later he was free.
Recently two fellas had a scrap, both willing parts, one ends in a coma. The other gets 4 years, serves 3 years.
one in my opinion is murder the other manslaughter. Thankgod for british justice.

i had a cousin who was in a pub with his wife and a guy groped his wife
and they had word later on as they both got drunk they challenged each other to fight they went outside had a fight no one won the next day the police came to his house and said the man he had a fight with died through the night some 6 hours later he was charged with murder and he got 8 year for manslaughter so fighting in the street can go badly wrong.

Boxer from Canada did the same thing
Canadian Heavyweight Ray Olubuwale did the same thing.
He was working as a doorman of a club,
Hit a drunk and killed the poor bastard.
Ray may have got two years or so .
Seems a life sentance is a tad too harsh.

Well said mate. As if our police and judicial system favours immigrants! The Stephen Lawrence debacle shows just how stinking and corrupt our police force and judiciary can be at their worst. I've met a few coppers, some of whom were good mates of a friend of mine, and the phrase institutional racism springs to mind.livingstone cole wrote:Blinkers? Can it you. I don't have blinkers on, I state my opinion and tell you why I feel that way. It's people that moan about immigration that have formed their opinion through either listening to or being that fat former national front bloke who sits in the local boozer, who have no idea about what really goes on. I work with asylum seekers, I have first hand experience of their situation. A tenner says you read the daily star and are convinced that we're about to be 'flooded' with immigrants, it's not true.harrygreb wrote:and if livingstone cole doesnt take off his blinkers regarding immigration i'll have to give him a clump
And if immigration came into this post because someone said he'd of got 4 months if he'd have been 'an illegal immigrant without a drivers license that ran someone down.....'
How about being one of a group of men that unprokedly stab to death a black teenager at a bus stop because they're a bunch of dirty rascists. What would you get? A police cover up, a date in court and no convictions.
wow livingstone YOU OWE ME A TENNER i have never even bought a copy of said paper (blinkers again). i am not one who thinks we are about to be over-run by immigrants (blinkers yet again). indeed i do not buy or read any tabloid at all.
my point of view merely comes from a few that have come here from overseas and scammed the system to avail themselves of a very comfortable lifestyle. of course they are the minority but the practice should be stopped. it will not be stopped until the blinkers are removed and the problem is acknowledged.
