Great effort in Fight Film Restoration. !
I really liked this effort. I watched it back at 1.25 speed and it seemed more realistic.
I'm not the greatest fan of 60fps as it seems a little 'unnatural' . But I think this is a vast improvement and I
hope a sign of things to come .

Still looks to be just a tich too slow tho IMOP
but yeah, I remember the Ken Burn's documentary on Jack Johnson
he could have adjusted the speed for the fight footage of Johnson vrs Willard,
but he made it look Keystone Cops.
I watched the fight footage at about half-speed with the remote on my DVD player and it looked
more of a realistic fight.

That is certainly the best film I have ever seen of Corbett versus Fitzsimmons. They need to keep up the good work.
What I find to be the real tragedy is that so many rounds have been apparently lost over the years due to people skipping over action to fit tv scheduling. I would love to watch from start to finish Johnson vs Willard, etc.

I don't think all 26 rounds of Johnson vrs Willard are known to exist.

they were big on booty shorts and also tights back then. i think homi henry said he prefers the tights , which are similar to what male ballerinas wear today, over modern boxing trunks. would be cool if they let boxers decide between standard trunks, booty shorts, and tights

but man, with this footage you can sense the power they put into their jabs.
they put the whole shoulder into it the way a jab is supposed to be done.

Leggings, I suppose is what you would call the majority of what people wore back then, although they stopped at the knees though some people wore full complete leggings. Sullivan wore complete full leggings.

He was understandably excited.
I remember when this footage came out a few years ago, you could There is a lot of interesting tidbits. (The film does look better now.)
Maybe it's just the camera angle, but the ring looks pretty big.
Accounts had pointed out that Fitzsimmons held on for dear life when Corbett knocked him down, and that is pretty accurate. He did delay the count by holding on. Also notice that the referee keeps moving Corbett back when Fitzsimmons is down. There is a misconception with some people that it was OK to just stand over the guy over the ground.
Fun to watch.

Have you ever been to the site that the fight took place ?
Its just about a block over from main street in Carson City NV.
I visited in 2002 and still felt the vibes left over from all those 105 years earlier.
