Boxing and the effects of lockdown and not taking punches to the head

Post by brilo33 »

i was discussing this with my brother , a lot of the big name boxers in lockdown have gone nearly a year or more without taking a blow to the head , how hard is that now to get back in to that trainning to taking shots to the head i mean if you dont weight lift for a week then when u do you get mad doms, does the head need time to get use to it again, i know you can work your own body with body shots but the head you cant, i wont lie iam in my 30s now and i havent been punched in the head for over 10 years and i really dont fancy it now ,i wonder if its the same for pros now

It's common. You have to get used to getting clouted. It hurts! Doesn't if you do it every day, though. Unless you have your lights switched out.
