“He is definitely doing things differently to me because he is able and capable of doing those things,” an envious Crawford said to Sky Sports about Canelo fighting four times in the last 12 months.
“He is getting all of the fights that he wants right now. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to. He has fought four times in the past year, and he has become undisputed.
“It has been frustrating, but what’s meant for me, I will have,” said Crawford. “Everything happens for a reason, and I believe that my time is coming. I feel like I’m already there, but I have to prove it to the world, and it starts with Porter”
“To be the best fighter in the world. Simple. I feel like I’m already there, but I have to prove it to the world, and it starts with Porter.”
Within the last 51 months, Terence Crawford has captured the WBO welterweight title and defended it four times, competing against the likes of:
• Kell Brook
• Egidijus Kavaliauskas
• Amir Khan
• Jose Benavidez Jr.
• Jeff Horn
Over the equivalent timeframe, Canelo defeated two dead-cert first-ballot future Hall-of-Famers, six legitimate world champions, four unbeaten opponents, claimed the unified middleweight championship, captured a genuine world title in a fourth weight class (at 175lbs) and also made history when he became the first undisputed super-middleweight champion of the world, whilst facing the likes of:
• Gennadiy Golovkin (twice)
• Callum Smith
• Sergey Kovalev
• Daniel Jacobs
• Billy Joe Saunders
• Caleb Plant
• Rocky Fielding
• Avni Yildirim
I mean, Life is easy being the money man. Easier still being the money man free agent. Nearly impossable for canelo not to get the fight he wants, it would have to be the worlds stubournest opponent, or a done king promoted fighter....
Craw took the Garrentee and fought trash, his contract is up soon. He can become a free agent and get any fight he wants, but because he isnt the money man and free agenting is hard, he is going to have to take less than he is "worth".
Years ago i think craw should of fought spence, and taken b side money (the fight was giant a couple of years ago, so it would of hurt underseling yourself by millions, but 35% of 50 million is a fuk load more than 4 million... and if he won he could of lined up manny pac undisputed for another 35% of 50 million.... Then he is the man at the Div, so can either have mega bucks rematches, Clean up thurman or porter or go to 154 buzzzing. Got to bet on yourself sometimes.

When is his contract up ?
Are you saying he's free once he's fulfilled boxing Porter ?
I thought so. Unless he extended it. Now you have me second guessing and I’m not sure. EO, hit me with the irrefutable contract details..
He's a free agent after Porter. Bob Arum confirmed this.
But, Top Rank seem confident they can retain Crawford on a per fight basis, which is how most fighters are promoted anyway.
If Crawford does that, then expect him to continue on the same career trajectory or face Top Rank’s 140lb-ers making the jump to 147lbs, rather than any of the PBC guys.

What is he complaining at ?
He probably signed a multi million dollar contract and was happy at the time.
He knew he was locked into fights.
Where did you get the complaining part? Absolutely 0 of what he said there was complaining, imo. He stated the facts about Canelo and that he has to go out and prove that he is the best.
middleweight, super middle weight is king of excitement divison unlucky for crawford he dont have a better or a challenger if the porter fight is close it will be go for crawford

Well he's saying that he's not getting the opportunities like Canelo.
Is that complaining ?
Kind of.
Terence knew what he was getting himself into.

Come on, man. Read it again, slowly. Nowhere in that was he complaining.

I can't get the fights I want.

That is NOT what he said. He essentially gave credit to Canelo for getting the fights he wants and pointed out that it is as a result of doing things differently. He says he needs to prove himself starting with Porter.
You are the one complaining/whining, not Crawford.

He's trying to take some of the play away from Canelo because he's moving toward that fight in the future, probably a catch weight at this point.
Sure maybe he didn't complain[yeah right]but it got him some attention.

And YOU are complaining about a guy marketing his professional fight.

I'm allowed to complain I'm a fan
He has to have a legitimate gripe, there's got to be a good reason.

He isn’t complaining, he is marketing (kinda), which is a good reason to complain.

• "Jealousy": feeling or showing an envious resentment of someone or their achievements, possessions, or perceived advantages.
• "Resentment": bitter indignation at having been treated unfairly.
• "Complaint": a statement that something is unsatisfactory or unacceptable.
Eddie Hearn advises Terence Crawford to sign with PBC to get the one or two fights he wants to make big money.
“It’s that there are so many limited fights for him for the money he wants and the legacy he wants,” said Eddie Hearn to Fight-hype when asked why it’s so hard to get Crawford fights.
“It really comes down to Errol Spence or maybe one or two others, and if you can’t deliver him those fights, what can you deliver him? Fights that might not appeal to the fans? Therefore, fights that don’t necessarily have a lot of value?” said Hearn about Crawford.
“So unless you can deliver him big fights, I’m not sure there’s a part for you in his career,” said Hearn.
“But he’s a tremendous fighter, a pound-for-pound great fighter, and we’ll see what happens,” Hearn said of Crawford.
“Sometimes people make it to where you have to be with a certain promoter to get those fights,” said Hearn when asked why Crawford can’t get the fights he needs for his career.
“But I think that’s a problem in boxing in general, but I think unless he signs with PBC [Premier Boxing Champions], I actually don’t think he will get those fights. Maybe that’s the route that he has to take.”
Why is Canelo getting the opportunities now that I don't Crawford wants to know?
Well let me tell ya.
Back when he was 22 Canelo put himself at a disadvantage in negotiations with Mayweather for the chance to get the shine and the opportunity that comes with such a big fight. He lost, but it bolstered his reputation and starpower, and the opportunities that he's had since he probably owes in large part to that risk he was willing to take back when.
Where's Crawford's risk? Where's Crawford taking the short money or coming in at a catchweight for THE BIG ONE?
