That's not right for a short guy like that.
Gives Khan a good chance at 150 for sure. Presumably Khan has built in penalties for Brook being over ?

a force wrote: 12 Nov 2021, 08:27 I’m not sure Kell’s even ‘shot’. I don’t think he can take a shot at 147 anymore but that’s more to do with the weight cut. He’s been making that weight for 15 years.

At 154 or even a 150 catch weight I bet he’d take a shot better.

Could he have achieved more? Yes maybe but at the same time everybody with Haymon & Arum were holding out for the potential Mayweather or Pacquaio fights back then so it was hard to make the big fights. He only got Porter as he was mandatory. Jessie Vargas wanted £3m to unify with Kell in the UK. They got Golovkin over for less & made a lot more. It is what it is. Council estate kit with a lot of mates who’ve gone the wrong way yet he’s been a world champion & made millions.

Still though, he’s had a long career, eye surgery on both eyes. He isn’t going to fornicate about with eliminators or non PPV fights. It’ll be big money or nothing.

When you think about it so many other fighters like Bellew, Groves, DeGale, Campbell, Crolla etc all started a couple of years after Brook & Khan & have all been retired a while now.
Some valid points, personally I would like to see that fully motivated Kell fight someone else at 147 before making questioning his ability at 147. He looked absolutely tremendous and was claiming weeks out he was on weight. It is just it was Terrence Crawford and the angles he can present.

Amaing point what you say about those fighters being retired - indeed in Khan's case it is far far more than a couple of years after - Khan turned over in 2005 which feels like a lifetime ago.

I agree, he's just not THAT good.

I remember when everyone was saying how Howard Eastman underachieved, but the fact was he wasn't good enough. He was good, but just not that good.
Disagree.

IF Brook had fought ESJ one fight earlier without the broken face - he'd probably have nicked a decision and been undisputed No.1 in an (almost always) deadly deep WW division.
A fair point, the injury to his eye was a real career wrecker.

Brook was flying until he was mismatched horribly against GGG.

Never was the same afterwards.

People can blame the promoter, but ultimately Brook took the fight.

These offers happen between fighters at different weights all the time but usually common sense applies and they are turned down - on this occasion common sense didn't apply whatsoever.

Just my opinion but I reckon cuts like that are absurd, he would have been much more comfortable at 154 or 160.

Yeah he got KO'd by GGG but that's GGG, not the average middleweight. I know Porter and Spence do big cuts too tbf but I'd say the same for them.

Speaking of Porter, Kells victory over him was a fantastic win.

I don't think Kell has ever lied about the cut, or people around him.

Not saying he is mick, I well believe it, just think he'd have been better of moving up years ago to at least 154 or 160.

Silly risk to take. It felt at the time very much like they saw it as a "what's the worst that can happen?" shot. Well, it can be a lot worse than just losing or getting stopped. Perhaps they thought if he was overmatched he'd just get cleaned out early rather than take a long beating.

Easy night for Smith
Easier than Fowler? If it was competitive at all could be interesting build up
Nowadays yeah, I'm not talking peak for peak, Brook was a quality fighter, but I reckon between age, the hard fights and inactivity that he is well gone.
What's Fowler gonna do now?

If I was in the shower with Kell Brook and a bar of soap fell on the floor, I'd leave that bad boy right there.

I'll say no more

The stabbing incident was a mysterious one. Not really much to go on although Khan was saying that.

There’s not many openly gay or bisexual boxers in history. I can only think of Emile Griffith, who last fought in 1977, who was openly bisexual. Statistically there must be a lot more than that. Maybe the moderators should get a grip on the forum a bit if it’s full of homophobic postings. Get with the times gentlemen!

You 100% sure about that mate?

Ahm nae buftie, so there are no shower fantasies 😁 Let's get that wee fact established right here and now.

I have it on decent authority that the Brook pendulum swings both ways, not that there is anything wrong with that of course.

It would not be the first time in the history of mankind, sorry, I mean people kind (it's more inclusive) that a boxer switches from minge to erse when it pleases him

Orlando Cruz is openly gay, Puerto Rican who lost to Terry Flanagan a few years ago. They also used to say Miguel Cotto was, think he's married though.
