The lower intensity of his career allowed him to be in top shape. He isn't way past prime even now, if it's possible to say, that he declined to some extent.

Re: Who is your p4p king?
Usyk - simply astonishing to accomplish what he has done on the road.
Inoue - the master assassin
Lomachenko - pushing the envelope of the entire sport
Spence - Impressive so far but still feels like we haven't seen the best yet.
Cheaters (Clenelo) and cowards (Crawford) don't count.

Re: Who is your p4p king?
tbh , estrada has ever really wow'd me. first fight with cuadras i thought he barely barely pulled out and easily couldve had go against him, then floored hard in rematch though won decisively in the end. thought he lost clear 8-4 to roman in the rematch. thought he was basically even with mediocre dewan bemoan before stopping him. very few 'wow!' showings. good for sure but a lot of fights just doesnt really seem to bring it and kinda just does about enough
for me crawford, spence, usyk, lopez all above estrada as well, inclined to edge josh taylor over him as well

1. Canelo: His body of work is deserving
2. Usyk: Well this guy's talent level is off the charts
3. Fury: The greatest heavyweight of last few decades
4. GGG: Mainstay. Plus, if Canelo is here ....
5. Lomachenko: The loss to Lopez wasn't convincing, certainly not enough to disappear him from top 10 lb4lb
6. Bud Crawford: Longtime undefeated Welterweight
7. Josh Taylor: Undisputed Jr. Welterweight Champion
8. Errol Spence: He passes the eye test, special fighter.
9. Beterbiev: He's a monster
10. Naoya Inoue: I don't know the little guys well but he looks like a killer

-GGG while semi deserving on resume, probably isnt p4p top 50 anymore on how good he is currently (we dont know that but i expect him to look very unconvincing in december).
These things are pure opinion so i can get around the list as a whole, and i dont even really disagree, just think there the more debatable points of the list.

Re: Who is your p4p king?
I can’t put usyk at number 1 as he’s not the number one ranked heavyweight so why would I put him at p4p number 1 if he beat fury he definitely is , Ive put canelo at 1 even though I thought he lost the first ggg fight 2nd could of gone either way but it is what it is Crawfords Gota be top 3

Re: Who is your p4p king?
So if canelo beats makuba his pound for pound rating will drop because he wont be the top cruiser weight? that seems weird.dan28uk wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 13:38 I can’t put usyk at number 1 as he’s not the number one ranked heavyweight so why would I put him at p4p number 1 if he beat fury he definitely is , Ive put canelo at 1 even though I thought he lost the first ggg fight 2nd could of gone either way but it is what it is Crawfords Gota be top 3

Re: Who is your p4p king?
*Is* P4P king places Canelo above Golovkin, since the majority of us would expect him to beat G if they fought again. The fact lots of us believe G won their first fight has nothing to do with it. Canelo's currently the most dominant champion, so #1 seems fair.
But change the question to *was* P4P king and things open right up. Usyk and Crawford's achievements might overtake Canelo's by the time they're all done, and the big reason I don't rate Usyk above Canelo is because I think he's a higher chance of losing soon.
P4P's always tricky because divisions are rarely equal. Not to mention primes passing like ships in the night. I rate Golovkin above Canelo in their respective primes, but that's not the question.

Re: Who is your p4p king?
One of my favourites, but he scraped past derev at 37… going to be 40 next time he fights. Aging is real, GGG is an all time great hall of gamer for me, but don’t expect him to look that way next time out.adislav123 wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 20:50gregregegg wrote: ↑14 Nov 2021, 03:30-Rating Fury above lewis is a hugeee call based of beating a past prime klitchco, Chisora and wilder...thomasjkelley wrote: ↑14 Nov 2021, 03:23 1. Re: Who is your p4p king?
all this talk of usyk i like the man and rate him but he beat aj , why isnt ruiz in this list then he ko aj ,he struggled with delboy i have no doubt fury will flatten him
Re: Who is your p4p king?
Canelo or Usyk are really the only possible options.
Re: Who is your p4p king?
Certainly not. Beating AJ is not Usyk's only accomplishment. Just his most recent. I considered him a Top 3 P4P fighter before the AJ victory.
Re: Who is your p4p king?
granted gil what he did in the cruiserweight outstanding and his step to heaveyweight again quailty, but with fury there how can he not be p4p, ur a heavy weight man aswell

Canelo Alvarez
Terence Crawford
Olek Usyk
