There is so much filler in this broadcast. Over 150 minutes of fluff and only one ten round fight so far

It was set up for Bene to win against a pillow fisted guy. I think they give up on him and throw him to the wolves next time out. He just isn't that good
I agree.

I hope he gets better and brings it but he fought zombie like tonight.

Torres is a slick pro boxer himself.

Benavidez v Davis Rd 1 = Davis bouncing. Benavidez stalks. Benavidez failing to cutoff ring. Not much.

First look at Davis for me.
Quality is low, punch power is low.
I'm not really even bothered watching it actually.
The British card was 10 times better.
I will record it just in case, like the Galahad fight. But it seems predetermined.

Canelo would make mincemeat out of Benavidez.
I'm less inclined to want to see that now.

Davis gave it all, but Benavidez simply was way too much for him. Davis was falling apart, his corner did the right thing. Yet it wasn't surprising at all. Everyone knows, whom Benavidez should fight now instead of another mismatch.

Benavidez looks like the best guy at SMW, who hasn't faced Canelo. This is the most logical matchup in the division right now and it will sell. It can turn to a decent Mexican style scrap. Benavidez isn't very sublime boxer, but he is big, strong and tough. He'll come out to fight Canelo, to try to beat him up, not to just survive.

Solid win by Benavidez. Showtime should put his last 4 oponents against each other to undercard: Davis, Ellis, Angulo, Dirrell. SHould be fun, evenly matched fights and undercard will look less trash

Benavidez’s stock has fallen.

His resume is poor and most recent victory has compelled me to lose faith about his chances against Canelo.

For sure, he’s currently the best super-middleweight that Canelo hasn’t faced, but there’s always going to be a guy out there boasting that moniker.

Don’t get be wrong, Benavidez wasn’t rubbish last night, it’s just that he looked ordinary and flawed.

It was merely a solid performance.

I think I’d like to see Canelo making the jump to 175lbs, because I don’t think he’ll receive much kudos from fight fans facing the likes of Benavidez, Golovkin, Charlo or Andrade, either because they were too small, too old or never that good to begin with.

I’d like to see Canelo fight Beterbiev, Bivol, Illunga and Smith Jr.

Agree, I don't get this clamour over the Benavidez fight. Is it because he's American and English speaking. Because Smith Jr is too and at least he has a belt.

I'm curious to see who would be Bena's next opponent?

Jacobs Lemieux, Ryder, Chudinov or maybe Plant?

I don't think Charlo will dare to jump up at 168 to fight Bena atm.

His stock has fallen alright.
That fight should have lasted 4 rounds tops. Canelo would murder him, no point in that other than to take his "0".
Are we calling him a weight bully? :D

I disagree. Benavidez is not a great boxer, but I would take him over Plant, BJS, Yildrim, Smith, and the version of Kovalev who Canelo ktfo. He has a very good engine and he would not avoid an all out war. Disrespect him at your peril.

I would love to see it and it would sell huge.

He is so open, acres of body to aim at. He can't cope with guys bringing it to him because he is so used to using his size against lowly opponents. Plant and 2018 BJS would make him look like a seagull stuck in a vat of treacle. And Canelo would waste him.
It might sell a lot of tickets, but they would be off the back of Canelo, not Benewhatshisname.
