Perhaps it's simply a Croatian tradition, because Hrgovic is from the same neck of the woods as Mark De Mori. And he also likes to do a lot of travelling, whilst facing appalling opposition.?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021, 04:44 maybe fill just loves beating up cans for minimum risk and pounding sexy croatian babes, maybe fighting for titles etc means nothing to him![]()

Re: No rumor for fight from Filip Hrgovic ?
This might sound weird, but I actually think that the fighter Hrgovic made his pro debut against four years ago, Raphael Zumbano, is vastly superior than his next opponent, Scott Alexander.
Scott Alexander has only defeated four opponents within the last five years. At that moment in time, they had failed to win a combined total of 48 fights.
Fellow Hrgovic prospect, Frank Sanchez, is scheduled to face Carlos Negron, who inflicted Scott Alexander's most recent defeat (apparently dominated him on the scorecards).
Scott Alexander's most recent victory was a split decision win over Luis David Rodriguez Aguilar (a fighter that has only won seven of his 35 bouts, whilst also suffering a first round KO loss to the disgraceful Christopher Lovejoy during his latest contest).
Scott Alexander actually drew against the outrageously appalling Tracey Johnson (a fighter that hasn't won a single bout within the last five years and is renowned for always losing to journeyman).

Apparently Filip Hrgovic is facing Scott Alexander in Las Vegas on the 4th December, on the undercard of Devin Haney and Jojo Diaz.gregregegg wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021, 05:27Is that his next opponent? thats a disgrace... he has the weirdest carrer, not only have his opponents regressed, i genuinly think he has too. I'm guessing that Hrgovic will weigh more than 247lbs against Alexander, because he just keeps getting heavier, which is something people don't really talk about (i.e. compare his weight gain trajectory to Tony Yoka, Joe Joyce etc.).
Re: No rumor for fight from Filip Hrgovic ?
True but he could do that at age 40+. At the moment he is in my opinion one of just a handful of boxers for whom winning the world heavyweight title could be a realistic goal. Could be but he needs to start working towards it right now.gregregegg wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021, 05:08 While boxing uber drivers for 100 Grand a pop is frownd apon online, in the real world thats a dreamy job.

Croatian media seem to be blaming Kalle from what I translated from a few articles. One stating he wouldn't pay enough money for Bakole or Hunter.
Why wasn't Kalle asked about Hrgovic in his latest interviews yesterday? Are the promoters basically scripting their questions beforehand.
Where did they pluck Scott Alexander from? Is this on the Haney Diaz card?

Kalle said he'd have the IBF eliminator next but now it's looking like Charles Martin/Ortiz are in pole position.

What title shot, I don't think Hunter is due a title shot from any of the alphabet bodies?Mexi-Box wrote: ↑17 Nov 2021, 19:27 Not sure what you can do. Dude just isn't popular, and a red-hot contender like Michael Hunter won't risk his title shot fighting against a dude that draws -1 fans. Zero reward if he beats Hrgovic too. Just doesn't make sense. Hrgovic just needs to maintain a good presence in the US or Britain, stop fighting overseas.
And where is he, and when is his next fight? Is he still promoted by Triller. I'm afraid it's high time these guys like Hrgovic, Hunter, Bakole and Joyce start fighting each other to actually earn a title shot.

Re: No rumor for fight from Filip Hrgovic ?
Surely when you are the number 1 contender and they want an elliminator, You have to offer purse bids to 1, then 2, then .... then 15, and if no fight is made on purse bids then you are just the mandatory (also everyone that says no gets dropped from the rankings). The entire point of mandatories is to get guys that otherwise dont pass the "Risk vs reward" test a chance.
Hrgovics resume does not warrent his rank anyway, but it will be silly if he gets to number 1, and then still cant find a fight and gets skipped.

Mark De Mori, damn Hunter dodged Hrgovic to fight the famous De Mori, Croatia's 4th best heavyweight...

Another way to look at the situation, is that Mark De Mori can earn more money facing Hunter than he can engaging in a domestic dust up against his fellow countryman, Filip Hrgovic!
De Mori and Hrgovic are both world-rated fighters, at least according to the sports’ governing bodies.

But what’s more embarrassing is that Hrgovic’s wealthy promoters flatly refuse to invest in their own fighter, because they seemingly can’t afford De Mori.

Re: No rumor for fight from Filip Hrgovic ?
thing is, even if they are protecting him because he has a high ranking and will be able to get a shot, he's still being matched way below his 'safe' level, with absolute scrubs that are totally unknown. why not a wach or a duhaupas or an allen or a rice etc. i mean these guys arent great shakes but theyve done somemthing at some point and we know them. does his team not think he'd be pretty much a lock for those guys ?
or rather than being ultra risk averse, is it a matter of them just being super stingey, hence finding total no names that will fight for a stack of pancakes?
either way its real stinky bruhs

He's not getting within sniffing distance of a title shot until he steps up. With Charles Martin ahead of him, having the eliminator with Ortiz and PBC backing I'd bet he gets there first. Ideally the winner of that fights Hrgovic. But then again Hrgovic can't have much complaints if he doesn't get a shot because his opposition has been so poor.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Nov 2021, 22:19 hes somehow become the 2nd highest ranked contender in the ibf, they gotta be factoring that in id think. you never know with the abcs and who'll theyll call for mandatories

Re: No rumor for fight from Filip Hrgovic ?
Kalle Sauerland (yesterday): - His comments don't make any sense to me?
"I see Hrgovic taking [on all the heavyweights] next year. He'll take them all.
"[Martin Bakole] didn't want the fight! End of.
"No Bakole. We tried to make the fight for December, but they didn't want it.
"So Filip will take a keep busy fight [against Scott Alexander] on December 4th in Las Vegas, and then we'll fight the [IBF] final eliminator in the first quarter of next year.
"So it would have been nice to have added the Bakole fight. I think we would have got it done as a final eliminator, but the fight, I think, they've agreed Tony Yoka as far as I'm concerned,
"But I don't represent Bakole, so I can't talk on his behalf. But good luck to him and Billy [Nelson], Good man.
"I'm going to say this, and say this once.
"Every. Single. Person. In. That. Top. 15 [IBF]. Has. Turned. Down. Has turned down the Hrgovic fight! Every single one.
"So you don't even need to ask the question.
"Whether it's Martin, Ruiz, Ortiz, whatever they're called. All of them. The lot.
"It's like a conspiracy theory. I dunno. Does the man have the wrong aftershave?
"We are the leading contender for the world title. So we're not going to make Daniel Dubois, unless that's the final eliminator. Are we?"

He doesn't say how much they were offering.
I expect it was the sort of peanuts that buys you Alexander?
Is this how the bogeyman crap started about Ortiz?

Re: No rumor for fight from Filip Hrgovic ?
I might have this wrong, but the eliminator is Martin/Ortiz
The main issue is Hrgovic doesn't have any reward if you fight him except money. So if the money is no good, you get guys like he has been fighting, and now Alexander.
I could be well be wrong, but that is how I understand it.
