That's fine but don't go demanding a Canelo fight. Looks like he wants a vacant belt

If Canelo fights Makabu, that's a decent option for Benavidez. But Plant would be better.

It would be better than his last few punching bags, and Lemieux has the power to be a legit threat.

It's an excellent matchup.

If it happens I'd give Lemieux full credit for stepping up.

No one else seems to want any part of Benavidez right now.

Especially not the walking human chem lab.

The only slight downer is that if Benavidez flattens Lemieux some will automatically say that Lemieux was already shot from all of his previous weight draining exertions.

On the other hand if Lemieux wins this exciting head on clash, and its not impossible that he won't, then we'll hear 'Benavidez was so overrated' etc.
Blah, blah, blah...

This is a great matchup, no mistake.

As good as most we can get in boxing today.

benavidez will win easily, lem aint done sh!t at smw and could barely scrape by max bursak ffs. though given how awful bena's opposition has mostly been, this will be one of his best

Benavidez is often portrayed as some sort of “fearsome beast”that’s being “avoided”, but the truth is that he possesses a padded resume.

And beating Lemieux won’t justify the praise that’s been prematurely bestowed upon him.

I’m not a hater, but let’s not forget that historical real-world facts really do matter!

Lol@ padded resume at 23. The guy was world champ at 21 or 22? Boots Ennis has a horrible resume too.

Some people are stupid negative Nancy trolls.

EO is just mad that his darling-Charlo is "hunted" by Bena and Andrade. :OhYes:

True about the power. I'm stunned Lemieux is only 32. He just seems shopworn, and will be small compared to Benavidez. But yes, a better opponent.

Lemieux is not a legit threat to top level boxers and never was.

He was fortunate to get a decision over the mighty Maksym Bursak not long ago.
Name recognition is the only thing Lemieux has for Benavidez. David is in no danger of losing his zero.

It's a pretty exciting fight on paper, stylewise I like it it makes for fireworks.
Lemieux has been inactive though, Is he just going to go through the motions ?
It has lots of potential that's for sure.

I don't understand why Benavidez doesn't move up at 175 and call out Zurdo Ramirez, Beterbiev, Joe Smith or Bivol?!

He's a big smw that has a hard time to make the weight. Fighting guys like Lemieux, maybe Jacobs or Plant is ok but not real tests.

It’s a poor fight.

Lemieux hasn’t achieved anything notable since he got dominated by Billy Joe Saunders four years ago.

Mario's actual in ring results have proven beyond any reasonable doubt that he does not and never did have the skill or power to be competitive with top level boxers.

Well tbh Lemieux's name may look decent on Bena's resume but indeed he didn't beat nobady notable at 168. Same with Jacobs, who got beat by Rosado.

Benavidez vs Zurdo Ramirez would be a good fight at 175! :box:

I would actually be overjoyed to see all the hype jobs engaging in a mini-tournament to earn the right to face Canelo.

I think I’ve commented on it often enough, but apparently you can’t read?

If I delved deeper, I could probably find more posts like these, which you ignored or criticised.

It seems weird to see someone mocking me for wanting precisely the same things that they want.

Even when we agree, you keep trying your upmost to find ways to pretend I’m wrong… and when you can’t, you just simply lie!!!
