if not right away, let's have something like craw-danny garcia, then the big fight after that in 2022. but no more than a 1 fight waiting period

I think that he has lost a bit of quickness and is not quite as fluid at pulling the trigger. He was actually very honest about the fact that he was having a hard time landing flush shots early on and that he was allowing Porter to score points without response at times.KiwiRider wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:10Do you think he was not quite as sharp tonight? you know the double end bag that bounces back and forth when you hit it? i imagine that fighting porter might at times be like trying to hit one of those as they sway all over the place
he was defo having some problems landing clean early........the counter uppercut that got the first kd.........he had been throwing that a number of times and missing in the early-mid rounds
but he did adapt and eventually get it down, which it the tc way. he does better and better as the fight goes on

I guess you’re missing my point. In no way am I criticizing the stoppage but if I’m being honest, I thought it was one of the lamest ones I can remember in a fight of this magnitude. I can’t even come up with another instance even close just off of the top of my head.skanksta wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 01:48OR....,caldo2025 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 01:44 Imagine a Dad putting his kid down like that after his boy just poured his heart out inside that ring. I honestly can’t believe this guy Kenny Porter. He’s just that dick sports dad we all saw growing up that thinks it’s all about him. The world was going to congratulate Porter for this effort and a great career but now, we have that notion that Shawn was not putting the work required for this fight. I’m sick for the kid and I’ve never been a Porter fan.
He wanted to protect his son who had almost zero chance of winning. AND saved him from lasting damage in later life. A lot of dad-trainers have been too brave because they think their son's chin is a reflection of their self esteem - "all about them."
Kenny did the right thing.![]()
My point was that Dad’s first words were to basically deflect blame for this loss and placing it on his own kid in front of millions of people after this kid just fought courageously with arguably the best fighter of his generation. Shawn tested Bud unlike anyone has and that fight was tight on the cards with only a few rounds left. It was a dick move by a dad that if we’re being honest may be the reason why Showtime comes up short in all of these big fights. I’d love to see a real trainer get his hands on him.

I am expecting it, 34 for a WW is quite old, I just hope he hangs in there for Spence. I'd be pissed if he had slipped and we didn't get the mega fight that it could be. I don't even care who wins, I just want both guys at or near their best.
Re: Round-by-Round: Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter - November 20, 2021
Porter was sharp early but even TCraw mentioned that this was not his best effort.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:17Maybe it’s cuz he fought Porter.ironbeard wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:14I think that he has lost a bit of quickness and is not quite as fluid at pulling the trigger. I think if it happens next and crawford wins it will have a bit of an astrix. Spence has fought once in the last 27 months (and the fight wont be for at least another 4 months) . In that time he has crashed a car badly and torn his retna, Hardly an ideal lead up.DrDuke wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:11No way. If they both had 2 belts next id say fornicate the astrix and fight, But given there is another belt to mop up and spence clearly needs a tune up i just think it makes sense to have 1 interim fight each and fight undisputed.

It's his problem. Crawford is older, should we wait for him declining first? Anyway, Spence returned after the car crash without the warm-up, he must do the same now. This fight had enough of f*cking marinating. The worst thing is over-marinating.gregregegg wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:23I think if it happens next and crawford wins it will have a bit of an astrix. Bud put off the fight for yearrrs for thinking he was a 50-50 split.. No need for spence to take it with a terrible preparation just to make a few crawford fans happy. Id still be absolutly buzzing if the fight got made next, just think If we are going to decide the best welter in the world they should both have decent preperation. This is nothing to do with marinating at this point, this is to do with both coming ready.DrDuke wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:30It's his problem. Crawford is older, should we wait for him declining first? It's pure marinating, excusing or any other kind of sh!tting on boxing. Car crash, eye operation... What's next? A toe injury? It's fight that boxing needs as soon as possible. True fighters gotta go for it instead of hesitating for a better moment.gregregegg wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 03:38Bud put off the fight for yearrrs for thinking he was a 50-50 split.. Great fight, I thought Porter fought his heart out. Hard to argue with Kenny Porter stopping it, it was only going one way. But his comments afterward trying to humiliate his son were pathetic. The man's a fornicating bully, and Shawn should get a new trainer he has plenty left in the tank if he wants it.
Bud Crawford is a special fighter. Terrific left hand and movement.

If not Crawford vs Spence next, it's time Jared Ennis got a shot.

He DID kinda throw him under the bus in the post-fight interview didn't he.

Crawford's win was no surprise and he'll beat Spence but his reign comes to an end against Boots Ennis.

Bob said he won’t offer Bud a contract, but instead offer him fights.
As we know we have Josh Taylor.
Bob said he’ll still try and make the Spence fight as well.

Big call.
I would say Crawford's reign will end when father time gets him. No one else is on his level. It is only age, not anyone's skill set, ring craft, fitness, or sheer spite that will match him.
Of course that could happen in his next fight. I hope not.
