He is wrong... But he always was.

I don't care who wins, I'm definitely not betting on it.
I just want it soon.

Enjoyable fight. Personally I didn’t really see the outcome was ever in doubt, it was certainly close and competitive for the duration, but Crawford always had an extra gear which Porter doesn’t have, was just waiting for him to step it up late on, which he did.

Agree fully. Porter had his moments but Crawford was always the better fighter. No shame in losing the way he did.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 07:03 Enjoyable fight. Interesting to see Crawford is a free agent now. Hope he fights Spence I don't see any reason why the fight can't happen Crawford would beat him too

Great fight, I thought Porter fought his heart out. Hard to argue with Kenny Porter stopping it, it was only going one way. But his comments afterward trying to humiliate his son were pathetic. The man's a fornicating bully, and Shawn should get a new trainer he has plenty left in the tank if he wants it.
Bud Crawford is a special fighter. Terrific left hand and movement.

Apparently he would have whether he lost or drew.
Said he’s not gonna become a gatekeeper

Imo he wouldn't be a gatekeeper at his current level. Maybe he just wants to do media/podcast stuff now but he might change his mind.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 07:47Porter announced his retirement after the fight.peter barlow wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 07:09 Great fight, I thought Porter fought his heart out. Re: Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter | Sky Sports - 20 November 2021
Wasn't a classic and I thought the towel coming in was a bit odd but can't argue with Crawford when he turns it on, it was a chess match mostly and not a lot of clean shots landed, plenty feinting and posturing from both guys, I gave Porter a few of the early rounds, he sprung his attacks and landed on Crawford a few times, Crawford took a while to get going and even when he did it wasn't great
Can't fault the knockdowns though, came out of nowhere, beauty of a left hand for the first one, put Porter on his arse, it was the right hook which put him down again for the finishing KD, as I say weird ending and not a classic but can't knock Crawford for the knockdowns, both quality shots

Bud is a beast. Well done to Porter on a great career, took on every top fighter at 147 in his era and always brought the fight to his opponent, win or lose.

Bob said he won’t offer Bud a contract, but instead offer him fights.
As we know we have Josh Taylor.
Bob said he’ll still try and make the Spence fight as well.

Crawford’s made his mind up and I’d be amazed if that’s not to join PBC.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 12:15 Bob said he won’t offer Bud a contract, but instead offer him fights.

Bob was talking about offering Crawford the fight with Taylor in front of 70,000 in March in the U.K. Whilst Taylor’s a great fighter he’s deluded thinking it does AJ numbers. He needs to realise that not every U.K. fighter fills football stadiums.
Joining PBC opens up Spence, Ugas and others whilst the only fight Bob can offer is Taylor.
Taylor’s been talking about Crawford quite a bit too. It may mean he has to stay at 140 and potentially wait for Lopez to move up for a big fight.

If Bob actually thinks Taylor Crawford would
Fill a football stadium then he’s lost it. They’d barely fill out the York hall.

Porter fought tremendously and I had it 86/85 to him. But Crawford found the punches when it mattered.
Dunno what was the biggest shot Porter took… the knockdowns or his fathers interview at the end.

I'm not going to look up his Dad's post fight ramblings. What was the gist of what he said?
I'm sure I read an interview with Porter where he said he wanted to fight Crawford or retire. If he's already thinking like that I can see why they stopped the fight, so that he could finish on his feet and go back to his lucrative pundit job with a big wedge of cash from this fight in his pocket. No sense in getting your brains scrambled at this point in your career if you're already more than halfway out the door and onto different things. For what it's worth, I thought the first knockdown was very similar to the one Porter suffered against Broner when he switched off in their fight, and the second wasn't much worse. But I guess this is a guy who has lost a few times already, and one more loss isn't going to hurt as much as when he starts slurring his speech in his 50's. He acquitted himself well in his final bout and doesn't need to give us any more.

He said he had to regrets over stopping the fight because Porter hadn’t listened to him and hadn’t done the right thing in build up.Cyclops wrote: ↑21 Nov 2021, 15:29I'm not going to look up his Dad's post fight ramblings. What was the gist of what he said?

I've got a Dad who will never be happy no matter how well I do. I think a lot of people have. I suspect multimillionaire Shawn Porter can probably get over his crabby, bitter Dad's huffing and puffing in the same way most of us do. It's a shame his Dad is like that though.
