I don't go for that; not after chasing Eubank for so long - and 4 weeks from actually fighting.
Williams - like the majority of us - Williams believed he would beat Eubank; what better to have on his recent record to negotiate a new contract.

It's hard for me to believe he'd allow himself to get used by Matchroom knowing things are at a crossroads in the UK with them, Sky, and DAZN .. and sides are too precarious to choose allegiances/perfidiousness.

Sky haven't mentioned it or advertised it tonight so must be off. Very poor to not speak or announce the cancellation though.

He is not getting used if fast car is getting his cheque book out.

Exactly. He can't just sign one contract and then another one

I'd call it being used. Eddie won't pay him enough to cover the damage it will have done if true and he pulls out merely to save another show.

I take the silence as a sign they seeing if whatever injury will be sorted within next few days. I'm thinking hand injury .. wrist/thumb .. something very painful initially but as long as not broken, can heal pretty quickly after a few days rest.

I am completely guessing, I have no inside info, just I understand how this dirty game works!
It would be no surprise to me if Williams had been poached to ruin the show.

It would be funny if Williams was poached and we got John Ryder Vs Williams but I'd say that's unlikely.

No talk of John Ryder fight, was supposed to be Bivol

He’ll have a signed contract with Boxxer though so it’s not like he can bin it off and just sign for another promoter.

There’s more chance of some legals being pushed by FW who may think Williams legally owes him more fights.

I think it’s almost certainly an injury but they’re waiting to have a confirmed plan/replacement fight(s) before releasing anything.

Is this fight officially off? Or maybe (hoping) it’s just some psychology from Williams to try and mess with Eubank...?

Not good though, that Sky arent even mentioning the fight at all. Williams has gone off grid on social media and Eubank has come out on Twitter slagging Williams for pulling out.

No - it’s not officially off but all signs are pointing that way.

Eubank is amazingly unlucky. Is that the third withdrawal in a row now.

I’m sure they’ll continue with a show as otherwise it’s no more U.K. boxing until Feb for Sky.

They’ve had a few days to sort now and we’re less than 3 weeks out so I’d expect an announcement either way tomorrow.

It was interesting that there was no promotion of the Cardiff show last night and Adam Smith didn’t do his usual post fight interviews on YouTube afterwards.

It’s a bit of a shit show to be honest. Announce the fight, hold a press conference and then the fight is cancelled all in the space of a week and less than a month before the fight is meant to take place.

I don’t hold with the Eddeh conspiracy theories. If he’s out, I think it’s genuine.

Likely outcome is Eubank Jr vs a fringe European contender.

Which will be weird in Wales!

Yep. My money is on Sulecki or Muratov who are both highly ranked for minimal reason and they’ll add another decent fight to the show.

They must be struggling though as it’s been 4 days now since it was reported. Eddie rightly got a lot of stick for the 24 hours or so it took to confirm the plan re: the Whyte show so it’s not a particularly good look for Boxxer.

Really poor stuff, probably trying to con a few more ticket sales out of unsuspecting fans like the Ritson show.

What a shambles of an outfit so far.

I read an article earlier that Williams had a scan on his shoulder last night. Weird that it takes that long to get a scan sorted for a fairly high level boxer involved in a fairly big show.

Surely there has to be some sort of announcement today/very latest tomorrow.

The show won't sell in Wales. Eubank won't draw a Welsh crowd; nor will they have any interest in Claressa Shields.

Show will get pulled if Williams is out.

Unless they move it. Would be very short notice.

She probably does more tickets in the north east than most other fighters do anywhere. I don't think she's even boxing on that show.
