Yeah, the audio was a good 2/3 seconds out so the comms was out of sync, ended up watching on mute! I'd recommend watching the Waseem fight back.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 15:52Thanks. He was very impressive though his chin was high. Only 15 of course. But looks like a kid. Early days. Although Canelo went pro at 15NoScoutingReports wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 16:10Didn't see that mate.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 16:07What did you think about Kid Lightning?NoScoutingReports wrote: ↑26 Nov 2021, 15:54

The kid looks like he's trying to hail a cab with his chin. Early days but still, he's no Naseem.

Hamed backing him. Hamed seems boastful as usual
Naz grooming him in a non sexual way

Ok..... My take on the 'lightening kid'
Nice slick lateral movement, nice left hands downstairs, nice jab too. And he is only 15, so lots of time to get even better...but
If his training team are reading this, why let him box the whole fight with his mouth open, its a fundamental basic in boxing.... open mouth = broken jaw
Im uncomfortable with pushing the Allah stuff onto the kid. Boxing and religion dont mix in my opinion. There is nothing even remotely arabic/islamic/middle eastern about the kid. Just let him box, he doesnt need an Allah headband, nor jesus one not a Buddah one (other religions are also available)
Its also hard to progress in the amateur game with that style, the judges are not attracted to it. They like 'normal' boxing so Lightening may have to work harder than ever to get points victories. Particularly with amateur old school uk judges.
Lightening boxed the whole fight on the back foot, its hard to get power into your shots and plant your feet with that style (although the uppercut can be thrown with power). Id like to see him on the front foot using those long levers as a stick kind of jab.
And IFL..... free boxing is always welcome, but Jesus, Sort out the production. The time lapse un synchronised visual/audio was annoying at best.

I agree about his chin in the air and it looked like his gumshield was too big.rhino222 wrote: ↑27 Nov 2021, 17:35 Ok..... My take on the 'lightening kid'

Apparently he’s won 3 national championships. Not sure which. I think he’s just waiting to be 18 and turn pro - I don’t think they’re really interested in the amateur game .
