Re: Round-by-Round: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - November 27, 2021
Lopez Senior did an interview with SecondsOut post fight. He makes Wilder look humble.
He claims…
- Lopez won every round. You could maybe give Kambosos 2/3 rounds tops.
- The knockdown was a balance issue. He then said it was a flash knockdown and Teo wasn’t hurt.
- the MSG crowd boo’d the decision of the fight.
- He intimated the judges were bribed.
- Teo will return to fight Taylor in the Spring
- Everyone knows Teo won the fight.
It put the interviewer in a tough spot as he didn’t want to challenge Senior but clearly disagreed with what he was saying.

Great fight, delighted for Kambosos he was brilliant what a warrior. I had it 114-112 like Chris Mannix scorecard.
Lopez seemed to arrogantly think he could walk through Kambosos and had no plan, even when he knocked George down he didn't got for the finish. Lopez had the worst corner advice I've heard from Lopez Sr.
The delusion and poor sportsmanship after from team Lopez after makes it more satisfying he lost and there is no rematch clause....

Kambosos is the 1st undisputed champ from Australia, correct? If so he made history! Congrats to him. That is awesome.

Flop over doesn't want any more of Kambosos.maverick23 wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 04:59Went to purse bids so no mandatory rematch.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 00:47Do they sign new contracts or something?
Teo signed a new contract with high minimum
Purse with Arum
Kam offered to do it again and the Flop over turned his head.

Yeah, Kam did offer a rematch and Teo basically said , "nah bro"Perseus wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 11:15Flop over doesn't want any more of Kambosos.maverick23 wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 04:59Went to purse bids so no mandatory rematch.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 00:47

He’s not undisputed.
Even the promotion, it was just unified.
Given Eddie was promoting, he’d love nothing more than to promote an undisputed fight.

Lopez is only 24. He can still have a great career. But, that won’t happen with his current team intact. His father has got to go. His training has got to change. He needs to mature mentally.
If he thinks that he is going to jump up and “takeover” 140 after last night, he is seriously delusional.

Part of the reason that fight went that way and Teo didn't seem to fight with as much urgency as he needed to was because his dad was being an idiot and telling him he won every round. This kid is in need of a big dose of reality. He's not going to get that with his current team.
He's still has the potential to be a champ again, probably best going up a weight but he has work to do.

I think that Teo came out in round 1 and experienced an adrenaline dump. He shot his wad, and from then on, no matter what Daddy Lopez said, he was in a place where he had to conserve his limited energy.
Teo did not go for the kill in round 10 because he did not have the energy to do so. He lost rounds 11 and 12 because he had less left in the tank than King George.
Teo lost that fight to King George in the 1st round due to inferior tactics, the opposite of what he did v Lomassiah.

The team, the dad, they have to go.mcrow24 wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 11:44Agree!ironbeard wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 11:39 Lopez is only 24. He can still have a great career. And bring in a nutritionist. He needs to stay at LW. The SLW boys are too big for him. Prograis would have folded him, and you need to get past Reggie to get to Josh.

Boy did I get this one wrong! LOL!
Feel like that KD in round one set the tone and made Teo back off rather than press the action. Good for Kam. Best man won.

Yeah, I think he doesn't do well up a weight either. The best thing would be like you said get the nutrition and weight cutting sorted out. Obviously, there are some disconnects there.KiwiRider wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 14:24The team, the dad, they have to go.mcrow24 wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 11:44Agree!ironbeard wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 11:39 Lopez is only 24. Lightweight is fine for a guy his size. He would be up against it with Taylor in height and reach.

Teo looked noticeably bigger than Kam to me.KiwiRider wrote: ↑28 Nov 2021, 22:00He isn't that big either. Kambosos is bigger.

Re: Round-by-Round: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - November 27, 2021
Inch and a half shorter.
Side by side at the face off Kambo did look a bit taller.
Taylor is a couple taller.
Prograis is the same as Lopez, but I think Reggie is much stronger. That measly 5 pounds is nothing really.
Re: Round-by-Round: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - November 27, 2021
Yes, he may be shorter but he looks thicker built. I know how this works, I was a division 1 wrestler. I of the shorter stocky variety. I'm 5'6 and wrestled at 160, most guys I wrestled were taller than me (usually 5'8+, many 6ft+). However, I cut down from 175lbs, so I was often actually the bigger, stronger wrestler. I think Teo is cutting significantly more weight than Kam is, but he should still be able to make weight without being dead out there. Teo is about my height I think, 5'6 or so Kam about 5'7 1/2 or so. Funny think I these guys would both look small next to me.

WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE!
2 OF THE JUDGES DID NOT GIVE KAMBOSOS CREDIT FOR THE KNOCKDOWN IN THE 1ST???
WHAT THE fornicate, INVESTIGATE THESE CLOWNS, ESPECIALLY DON TRELLA, THERE'S NO WAY LOPEZ WON, NOR GOT A DRAW
There's no way that was a mistake...
edit: What the "fornicate" is hilarious...
Re: Round-by-Round: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - November 27, 2021
If two of the judges thought Teo won the round and scored the knock down for Kambosos their scores are correct are they not ?
Re: Round-by-Round: Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. - November 27, 2021
I know what the profiles say, neither of them looks more than 5'8 when standing next to other people. The only thing you should believe is weight on these guys at weigh-in. Height fudging happens in every sport.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 01:19Umm, I'm just going to post these links:mcrow24 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 00:01Yes, he may be shorter but he looks thicker built. absolutely no chance those boxrec listings are correct
here is the supposedly 5'9.5 kambo with boxrec 5'8.5 lee selby. sure looks taller doesnt he! someones numbers are obviously off. as for teo-kambo, i did think teo looked thicker for sure, but neither is all that tall for the weight
