15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout
Norton would give Ellis a lot of trouble with his crab shell cross-armed defense as he banged his face with jabs and body punches, then nailing him with right hands and left hooks to KO Ellis in 6 or 7 rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Norton would totally outclass Ellis. Ken's style was nightmarish for Ali, he'll deal handily with Ellis, who struggled with Quarry and declined Patterson.

Don't think he would have been a cruiserweight. He was good enough to win the WBA title tournament. He fought a lot of big name heavyweights and won some. No reason to fight at cruiserweight for what would have been in comparison chump change.
I would pick Norton as well. Ellis was a smart fighter tough and might have made things difficult.

Suddenly all participants of that highly prestigious tournament could make CW along with Jimmy. Moreover, it's a question, if those decisions for Ellis were good enough.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 11:52 Don't think he would have been a cruiserweight. Norton, by a UD.
Re: Heavyweights: Ken Norton vs. Jimmy Ellis
Ellis was one of my favorites, but I think that Norton was just too big and strong for Jimmy.

I'd pick Kenny by late stoppage. Ellis would struggle mightily with Kenny's jab and eat overhand rights.
