A draw with Jerry flippin Forest
That's it, scrub Hunter off our boxrec HW top 15.

That's two 2012 Olympic boxers that Jerry Forrest has fought to a draw

Both took an early lead but had big problems with stamina in the later rounds and ended with a draw. Zhang said his body "just shut down" while Hunter was nearly vomiting before the 6th round.

What is Forrest doing, spiking his opponents water with arsenic? He clinches a lot, maybe it's some kind of contact poison applied to his skin.

Or maybe Hunter ain't all that.
I mean, Jerry Forest.
He clinches a lot because he is Jerry Forest, opponent.

Trey got ultimately exposed. The ending of the fight was like shades of Trey's dad being KOed by Mercer. That's the only resemblance of Trey to Tommy.

Arias comfortably outboxed Chaney, the dec couldn't be split. Chaney is a big stiff idiot, he doesn't use his anthropometrics and simply walks onto punches. I had it 98-92.

Hunter was woeful. That's what little activity and bumfighting did to him. It wasn't even close, Forrest got robbed. I had it 97-93. Hunter won only first three rounds, after which he was being swarmed all the night long. Forrest looks like an unappreciated road warrior lately, he beats up favorites and gets robbed.

Overall, it was a fun event of clubfighting. On the one hand, it was entertaining as fighting. On the other hand, it showed the level of the US HW boxing, it is still mediocre. Only Arias looked decent. Maybe Hunter was simply underprepared, but maybe he's finished, only time will make it clear.

Possibly it was the best event of the Triller circus up to the date. Yet the commentry was awfully biased. Those b!tches compared Chaney-Arias with Ali-Frazier, they were calling every solid punch big. 'Arias goes for the kill' - the fight never had that sharp moments.

For now Zhang vs Hunter sounds more interesting. A clash of Jerry's victims. :OhYes:

Forrest should try to expose the likes of Trevor Bryan.

Jerry finnishes strong. needs to get himself some shitty intercontendental or somthing so he can be in 12 rounders.

He is in redhot form. With fair judging he Beat franklin and beat hunter, He nearly killed zhang (although i scored it a draw), and was coming back into the fight with takem but rightfuly lost.... He has looked borderline world levle recently.

Maybe he just fights overblown sh!thouses. Well, Hunter and Takam can be considered unprepared/declined, but Franklin and Zhang hasn't done anything significat really.

Still a credit to Jerry for making fights against all this guys, not just coming out for a paycheck.

Yea look the guys he is fighting arnt killers but they are proper guys. Considering jerry has never officialy beaten a top 100 guy, and in reality he is mixing it pretty well with guys often considered 10-40th

Turns down a big opponent for money then loses to a big underdog. Sporting karma for Hunter?

Yeah, barely he got paid for Forrest close to what he could have been paid for Hrgovic. Even a loss at the higher level, if it's honorable enough, can improve marketability of a fighter. Yet this 'draw' against Forrest throws Hunter down significantly. Will he ever receive the same offer like for Hrgovic again?

When he is letting his hands go, I'm chanting "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!"

I wasn't scoring the fight, and I had a bit of a sh*tty connection, but I got the 'feeling' he won it. Good to have a bit of corroboration.
Man, Hunter is off my list :shame:

wow, got some people here that think all boxers suck unless they're in the top 5

Maybe Forrest is just durable as hell. He weathered a storm in both fights that would have stopped most heavyweights. He didn't get hurt from 3 knockdowns from Zhang and innumerable punches from Hunter. Something odd happened to both of them, maybe just bad conditioning, but he was the fresher fighter from that point on in both cases.

Looking at his overall record, he's only lost to good fighters. He's only beaten bums for the most part, but now he has two draws vs. highly ranked boxers. He lost a split vs. Franklin and wasn't dominated by Takam.

It looked like he was destined to become the prototypical "durable journeyman" that you feed to up and coming fighters to "give them some rounds" but he isn't cooperating with that scenario.

And why isn't he ranked in the Boxrec HW rankings? Does he actually need to have another win to be ranked, draws don't count?

Your description of this as a night of club fighting was perfect, BTW.
